possible VTEC malfunction

i was driving my cls6, really getting on in while i was gettin off the ramp onto the highway. i was shifting at redline but was distracted in 4th gear and hit the rev limiter... hard. car began running poorly for the next 1/4 mile but eventually came back around for me. check engine light never went off. went to my local diagnostics guy to check my code and its a p1259 (VTEC system malfunction). i have searched our forum to help me with this since i am just out of warranty and found this thread about a 1st gen. https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...ror+code+p1259 so heres the question experts. is what happened to his 4 banger the same thing that happened to my 6. and if so whats my fix.

thanks for takin the time to read this

If the car is running fine & the code doesn't come back your fine.
