oil consumtion?

Hi,i have been using this site with my Acura CL and figured I would try asking a question about ny daughters honda accord. She has a 2001 Accord w/97,000 miles and it is using approx.1 quart of oil every 4,000 miles.I have no oil on the driveway, and no oil in the radiator. Can you guys give me some suggestions as to what this might be? I cant find any oil leaks under the hood either. Thanks for your help...!

In that case the oil must be getting burnt off. Is there a slightly blue colour to the exhaust?

that is nothing, and is actually pretty normal; all engines burn some oil, cause think of it this way, the cylinder walls have to be lubricated for the rings to slid easy and not wear and a little oil does get by and then is burned off ( not the best at explaining things like that)
BTW on subaru, the factory says it is ok for their engines to burn up a quart per 1,000 miles

but 1qrt every 4 k miles is excessive.

piston ring or valves guides might be taking a shit. u can do a cylinder leak down test to make sure that ur rings are good or bad

tect compresson and if it is good, it is most likely a valve stem seal.
