Angry Noise in trunk...

Okay, this is driving me insane...It started lately and I cannot seem to find the source. It appears to be coming from the trunk (unless I'm totally off-base)...but, there is this squeaking that sounds almost like little birds chirping??!?

WTF...And no, I don't have a birds nest in my car, guys.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Haha I know what you mean. I got some squeeling sound from the trunk also. Like a squeeking spring when you hit dips or bumps right?
Or like the sound when you do the nasty on a box spring bed haha

Or the bracket that holds the springs is busted. Sometimes the welds break on that piece.

Bracket...wait, is this the brace (this brace holds separate two metal rods that go across the top of the trunk) that is supposed to be welded to the top of the trunk?

I'm asking because this brace no longer is attached...it has snapped off. I need to re-weld it back on.

BTW, thanks for the responses guys...

Question though: What springs? I looked in the trunk and saw no springs in there...?

LOL...I have that same issue! It is the Bracket that holds the Torsion bars in place, hell with getting them welded back on, im going to drill a hole in them, and re-attach the bracket to the frame with screws.

Yep

The springs aren't really springs we just call them that. They are the torsion bars that run under the rear deck & hold the trunk lid up.
