I first used the original one from my old motor, than bought a new one, but still having problems, so I assume its not sensor related.

Can you elaborate any further as far as this grinding that you needed to do? If you swapped in the proper cam plate (the one stamped with PGE) what is the need for any grinding?

Come to think of it - I don't think we did swap the cam plate over.

Cams are NOT the issue. Oil pump is NOT an issue. The motor i used was from a Auto type-s. I have zero issues and 100k miles on it since the swap

Just a recap, What civicdriver posted is all you need to swap over (also you need YOUR motor harness and not the one on the auto motor)

Crank shaft sensor 37500-PGE-A11
Sub harness for CKP 37501-PGE-A10
TDC Sensors (Qty 2) 37840-PGE-A11
TDC SUB HARNESS 37841-PGE-A10

Those are all the parts you need from a CL-S6. You did replace the TDC sensors right?

Did the mechanic swap over the 6 speed motor harness from your motor to the auto motor. (also is this auto motor a type-s motor)

All those were swapped over. I am going to double check if it is a type -S motor. I hope this wasnt overlooked

I misunderstood what my friend had told me. The cam plates are swapped over. There was a recess on the auto head that had to be zapped off with the carbide cutter to allow the plate to sit correctly on there. I am using the 6Spd cam gears, larger sensors, and plates - it will not work without them.

A po336 is a crank sensor. Are you positive it was swapped over with the sub harness?

Also im not sure how important it is but the manual oil pump uses a metal plate to shield the crank gear. I put it on while trying to figure out my issues but im not sure if its is really needed. You may want to have them swap it over. (i didnt like the way it was only fastened by one bolt on the auto pump and JB welded it as well (its the goldish looking plate in the pic) I highly doubt its needed though

I am leaning towards something to do with the crank sensor and it's readings. I am going to put a new motor harness on there to make sure I have no shorts in the circuits. The other wierd thing is that it throws the code when I turn the a/c on. No clue how that relates other than I know there is a surge of power when the compressor turns on

What issues were you experiencing exactly, and how did you solve it bro? I am confused as to what exactly the sub harness is? when I purchased a new sensor, I also purchased the plug and attached wires that go with it that plug into the harness. Is this what the subharness is refered to as?

$5000 for an engine swap..when you could have replaced pistons/rings

That sucks man. Don't change the oil pump. Make sure that on the back of your crank sensor there was a little nipple that went into a hole in the oil pump. This keeps the crank sensor at a set distance from the timing gear so it doesn't just pivot on the mounting screw, throwing readings out.

Otherwise...I'm lost on how this has cost you so much. You're getting screwed hardcore.

fuck me sideways. It was finally figured out. when the person initially installed the flywheel, there is a guide pin that wasnt installed, so the flywheel was off by one, and hence all the issues I had of the car pulling timing. it took a lot of money and time to figure this one out!

Whoever installed the flywheel should be the one paying to figure it out. Did the dealer install it?
