misfire and and ps pump noise

well after i did my valve adjustment, i did what phee said and used the ps pump bolt instead of the crank pulley bolt. worked great, but i noticed that some of the ps fluid came out from the reservoir and now the pump makes a squeaking noise every time i turn the wheel. air in the system?

next problem, i throw a misfired code for cylinders 1-6, random misfire, and manufacture controlled ignition malfunction. this popped up after i did the valve adjustment and put in my test pipe. i put in an o2 sensor defouler, maybe need another one? put car runs strong and no weird noises other than the pump noise.

all coils are in, all sensors connected. what u guys think it can be?

i had the same code random misfire 1-6 and then misfire cylinder 1-6. i changed the coils and plugs. but it might be a few slight bent valves? btw your problems seem to follow mines after i mis shifted my car started to fall apart. haha hope this helps.

for the power steering you probably already checked the level. what i did was just pour it up to max and keep turning the steering wheel and it just goes away. you probably tried that already. but just throwing it out there.

breaking engine mass along with compression with such tiny machanism like steering pump is absloutely stupid idea. You might have ended up with bent shaft or bent tension screw and thats why it squeeks now. ... and misfires ... hard to say but misadjusted valves will do it ....

well, i had miss adjusted valves and it ran good, surprisingly good. now the valves are adjusted to the correct specs. runs better than before. never had the pump noise until i did the valve adjustment yesterday, after that it started to make the noise. it just makes it when im turning, but lock to lock their is no noise.

i check my compression and looked at the spark plugs. one was bad, so i switched to the ngk iridiums plugs in all cylinders
my compressions are
cyl 1: 192
cyl 2: 123, this one id checked twice. both came out the same. also this is the one that had the messed up spark plug.
cyl 3: 207
cyl 4: 200
cyl 5: 190, this is the one that had teh cracked rocker
cyl 6: 215

they are all high numbers, whats ur take on this? i think the 123 is so low bc of the spark plug not firing and not warming up the ring/ valves

heres the pic of the spark plug

btw, these are zex cloder spark plugs for when i spray. never had a problem with them until now.

Build up on spark plugs is never a fault of actual spark plug but rather a combustion problem, yours look like dry brown-grey deposit around terminal - mostly caused by oil going thru rings or severe overheating. There are 3 things that cause low pressure : rings or valves and blown/cracked head or gasket .Since you had cracked rocker (these things do not brake - ever!) ... it might be a bent valve. See this motor is and interference engine - means : no clearance for valves in case of any misadjustment or timing problem. When piston strucks valve one of two things have to go: valve, rocker and very rarely piston or piston rod. .... but still its kind of hard to determine actual cause on the forum

well car ran great. but 5min from my house the check engine light came on. cyl 2 and 5 misfires, random misfire and manufacturer controlled ignition malfunction

Since you got low pressure on 2 and had broken rocker on 5 ... sorry to say but it seems like it may be repeatitive issue

well got misfires 1-6, random, and manufacture. i loosed the bolt on the ps pump bc i think when i was turning over the engine with that bolt it might have tightened, so i loosed it a bit, the noise is not as loud now. im gonna see if a 35mile drive to work tomorrow clears it up. cleaned the iacv and my idle is steady now and doesnt fall below 700-800rpm.

i only throw the misfire codes when im standing still for a few min. 5+min. driving is all good, stop and red lights are all good. only when im standing still for a while at idle. i did the seafoam treatment and that might have helped. i just filled up so i wont put any in my tank till im 1/4 way empty. so by friday considering how i drive. none in the oil yet.

Well, no problems yesterday or today morning. But yestersay evening while at a long red light, check engine came ligt came out. Manufacture controled ignition malfunction or misfire. I can hear my exhaust at idle and sounds like it is misfiring. So I'm gonna do a compression test again today and do process of elimination with the coil packs.

A bad coil pack will not cause low compression.

Low compression can cause a miss, my guess is a bent valve on cyl 2.

I know. But I never had a mis until last Saturday when i re adjusted the valves to thr min spec. But if the cylinder isn't fire then the rings nor valves arnt gonna expand as much and their for I will have a lower compression in that cylinder. Ill check the compression again today

Valve expand along with the cyl head and piston rings are simply C shaped springs and its heat expansion is obsolete to compression rate. Usually with engine cold compression is higher due to oil being thicker .... Sorry butI think you got your valve bent

im about 90% sure my valves in cylinder in 2 are fucked. did the compression test again and here it is.
1- 198
2- 103 (did it twice same results)
3- 195
4- 166
5- 159
6- 192

spark plugs looked clean and in great shape.
so for now. im still gonna drive it until i fix my tl, them throw in an engine in the cl and build the one i took out of the cl.

You can get these motors cheap. Once I ve seen on ebay 85k motor listed for 299 and it did not sell . Honda motors run forever. I got my Legend with 250k on it and sill runs strong as new. The only major thing I ve done to it ,is head gaskets and all upper cylinder seals and gaskets. .... Just do timing belt and sht before you drop in your new -used motor

well, i only now get a manufacture controlled ignition misfire/ misfire. rpms dont fall down anymore, but still have that annoying ps pump noise.
