Lately i have noticed that when i first start my car my MRL pops on and blinks for a little while then goes away like normal. I never noticed it coming on like that before and blinking for a good 15 seconds. The only think i had done to the car was a new tranmission but the problem just started recently so its been almost a month since the new transmission

 

It has nothing to do with your tranny. It means you probably need an oil change. The light goes off due to a certain mileage. Meaning that maintenance is required.

 

Usually the dealer will reset the maintenance light when they service your vehicle. In your case, they didn't (unless it's been 4,000 miles or so since your last oil change). There is another thread on here that will tell you how to reset it yourself if that is something you want to do.
