just wondering if my maint. req. light comes on because i need to get my brakes checked? (really squeely.)

change your brake pads, have rotors turned/resurfaced that will take care of the "really squeely"
go to honda/acura they can reset your maint light... theres another way to do it by jumping pins but i dont remember, im sure theres a thread on here somewhere.

i believe on our cars it is:
press and select and reset buttons for odometer
turn car on
continue to hold buttons down for 10 secons
release

Yes, just hold the both odometer buttons down while starting car. Wait for it to flash then disappear. The light is merely based on mileage for oil changes. Also, if those are the original brakes, it's problem time to have them changed or at least checked. The pads are probably on their last legs.
