How loud is the fuel pump noise when you turn the key to the "ON" position?
My daughter has been driving my '01 CL-S recently, and last night (when I was on the road, about 200 miles from home) she told me that she could not get the car started. She told me that she cranked the car, and in her own words, the car just didn't "catch".
Not wanting to diagnose this over the phone, I figured I would look at this issue today. Over the phone, it sounded like she could be describing a fuel delivery issue, so I did some reading on the forum before attempting to start the car this morning.
I noticed this thread: https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-cl-problems-fixes-70/fuel-pump-relay-problem-495108/
After reading it, I figured I would attempt to start the car. I turned the key to the "ON" position, but didn't hear any noise from the fuel pump. Surprisingly, the car started immediately. The fuel pump on my wife's Suburban is LOUD when you turn the ignition on, so I was expecting a noise like that. However, I didn't hear anything at all on the Acura, and yet the car still started. I can't really explain why my daughter couldn't get the car started last night (might have had something to do with the face that her car only had a 1/4 tank, and mine was full....lol).
Is the fuel pump noise pretty noticeable?

Got it....I was sitting inside the car with the door open, which might explain why I didn't really hear anything. I'll give it another try in a little while.
Thanks!
