Home-made Cabin Filter DIY

This is not how to replace but how to make your money work harder...

I see a lot of you like to DIY-s so ...as I stick around you will find I am cheap, even with that said I dont like to sacrifice quality.

I made my own cabin filter(s)

and it was cheap if you have the screen just hanging out at your place.

the filter was about $7 at HomeDepot and you get a big @$$ sheet of it (see image). [yes I had this just lying around in the garage]

just take measurements of the stock filter and cut 4 sections of the new sheet to match. place 1 on top of another. use window screen or a material like it to lock (with thread or other) it all together. place new DIY filer in and your done.

when its time to maintenance, just remove, wash, let dry and replace.

if img code does not work here is the link:

LOL and dont give me $hit about the blue string (left filter was first attempt, right filter I took more pride in my work) ...hell no one will see it except you guys.

Interesting idea. Watch it. You may be impeding airflow using layers. I have similar stuff for a Home AC filter backup. It's a little thick.

That maybe the case but considering what I took out. I bought it with 72k and I just changed them at 72,800. the ones I removed have been in sense the car was new... thats just SAD!

these are not HEPA-filters

besides if you compare the filter stuff I used to a new filter replacement you can see my will yield better CFM, I'm also not anal about tiny particulates...
