The check engine light and the TCS light went on last night while I was driving on the highway.. Does this really mean that my tranny is shot????? It seems to shift and drive fine

 

well, you need to pull the code before you start making assumptions.

 

But yeah it's a good bet.

 

Its not your tranny the same thing just happened to me(2001 cl type s) it was a malfunctioning knock sensor. the dealer tried to charge me 300 to fix but they didnt tell me it was covered under the emmisions warranty. run the codes...
