Has the tranny finally gone?
I have a 2001 CL-S with 130,000 miles. It's never had the tranny changed out. Well about two months ago the car started jerking pretty bad when shifting. I had it flushed and it worked like a charm for a few weeks, then it started jerking worse than ever. Last week I was cruisin on the highway at 65 in D5 and the damn thing downshifted to second! I pulled over and restarted the car, but nothin doin'. Since then the car shifts sporadically around between the five cogs at random. Seriously sometimes it'll shift from first to fifth if I give it any more than a hair touch on the throttle. There appears to be no Reverse whatsoever at this point... The car starts up fine and sometimes even drives fine (I haven't driven it any further than from my house to the corner store since the highway incident). Sometimes , however, its just unmovable. My Dad says he thinks its the solenoid. Is it possible thats it? Or has the tranny finally died? How should I go about getting it fixed? Just droppin it off at the dealership for diagnosis isn't possible due to $$$
Thanks in advance for any help 'yall can give me, its really appreciated.
