Alrite so i have a problem with my 01 type s...a few months back i had the xs headers installed and the magnaflow axlebacks welded on and ever since whenever i accelerate and its about to switch from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd..etc...the exhaust lets out this loud whine...so i tightened up all of the bolts to the headers and the down pipe and i even replaced the bolts, but there is still that sound. Is this an exhaust leak or what? I need to get rid of it asap cause its bugging the hell out of me!

 

when you installed the headers did you also put in brand new oem acura gaskets? you shuold also use different bolts then what came with the xs headers.

Where does the leak sound like it is coming from? I had an exhaust leak in my 02 CL-S where the muffler connects to the pipe on the drivers side. All I had to do was get a new $12 gasket put in.

If all the gaskets and bolts check out, I would say that the welds are bad on the xs headers
