01 cl type s when going home on my 30 miles drive with the cruise on running about 70 the car starts to slow down like the cruise is turned off then takes off again back to traveling speed,thought it might be in the cruise but does the same when I turn the cruise off.It will do this for a couple of minutes then will run normal all the way home,the last time it did it it was longer than the time before.We are in a 100 degree weather in my area really hot,made the same trip everyday for the last 5 years I have had it,have about 220,000 miles on it and still runs strong,just wondering if anyone has had this type of issue with their acuras.Would it be the start of the fuel pump going out or the fuel pump relay maybe.It only does it for a short time then so far goes away for the rest of the drive home.Thanks for any help I can get hopefully catch this before I'm sitting on the highway stranded

Just off the top of my head, if this was a fuel delivery issue I would expect the engine to sputter or otherwise run noticeably rough. Said another way, I personally would look elsewhere for the issue.

Interesting dilemma you have there. Can't say that I've ever seen that complaint on here before.

After a quick look in the Helms manual, under the cruise control symptom trouble shooting index, there is one 'symptom' that stands out, more or less, describing your problem:

Symptom:
Speed fluctuation on a flat road with cruise control set.
Diagnostic procedure:
1) Check vehicle speed sensor (VSS)
2) Check actuator
3) Check control unit
