anyone have a problem with their 01 cls, when coming to a stop the engine goes below the normal idle rpm and feels like its about to die. i also noticed when the car is left on for a long time the rpm fluctuates and also feels like it will just shut off. any ideas?

 

Happens in my old 90 Legend, but the CL isn't having that problem. Hopefully it won't for a long time.

 

This used to happen in my durango, it was a mix of low voltage with an engine misfire.

Check your distributor cap, wires and spark plugs.

 

The CLS doesn't have a cap or wires....

It likely a bad or dirty IAC valve. Common problem.

 

Any lights go on once the rpm goes low? Maybe, just maybe bad coil(s) ...what's your total mileage?
