Electrical or Transmission Issue??

I am wondering if someone else have experienced same or can explain whats worng.
While driving when i let go of gas and car downshifts the speedometer and rev meter both drop to 0 and Maint. Req. light comes on also the temperature display goes off show _ _ _ and all goes back to normal second later happens couple of times and then whein i park the car and turn it off the battery dies.
Someone suggested earlier on here, that it might be the battery or starter, i have checked both and they both came out to be normal. I have appointment on monday with dealer to get it checked out.
Any one have any idea what the hell could be wrong??

Yep thats what i think. Well i am at the dealers today and decided to get the 60 K service done too. its a 500 big ones the cost iz freakin crazy. five hundered.woho..
but i havent done anythig since 35k that was the last service when i bought the car about 2 years ago.
What you guys think is this crap worth it.?? the guy at stealership told me they replace fulids like brak, steering, transmission which i thought was good and the filters change like pollen or ac huh... bs any way i am going to keep the car until april next year so this will be the last service i will do but again do you guys think its worth it... ?

The loss of display may be low voltage due to the battery having an issue? I have a Land Rover and when th alternator when out the truck ran OK but the tach wouldn't read?! Apparently the Land Rover tach needs over 13V to operate.

so I figured it out a while ago but havent had a cance to come here but anyway. I have an amp and fig lights connected to the battery and i think its the amp that cause corrosin and that was the daym reason well actually i disconnected the fogs and its stoped happeing and i thought that was it, but a week later it started again and one day car died, so i was thinking about a jump start but when i just shook the + cable it sparked and it was all fine so then i figured its the corrosin culprit. cleaned it and greased it and no more problem. funny thing is the stealership couldnt even figure it out they even checkd the battery and it was cranking more than enough.
