Hello there, I have a 01 Type S CL and the door locks are locking when I turn on the car to start it. It will only do it when the doors are closed, if I start when open the lock will not lock automatically. I went to acura and they said the car shouldnt do this. I dont mind it if the car will unlock the doors when turning off car. Instead they stay locked.

Can anybody help me please. This only started about 3 months ago and the original owner siad he never had this issue.

Do you have some aftermarket alarm installed?

 

I wish my car did that.

 

A stock car does not do this.

 

My first thought as well. Look for an aftermarket alarm system.

 

as far as I know no after market alarm.. like I said the original owner never had this happen and I havent changed anything to the car hope someone can help

 

i guess no one else has this problem... no replys so bummed I will call acura and ask.. maybe they can help.. just started about 2 months ago

 

mine did also but changed battery and it stopped

 

doors getting locked when the battery is dying change the battery that will fix your problem...

but does the car start normaly ? it happened to me few times with old battery that was like 6 years old

 

sometimes just disconnecting your battery, waiting 2-3 minutes and reconnecting it does the job, my old car ( a ford, but never again) used to do something similar..hope that helps.

 

just like what someone else said, its the battery! You will also notice that if you turn on your headlights before you start that car, that the lights will flicker on and off when you do start the car...that is also a sign that the battery is going.
