clutch engaging really high.

I just got the car few days ago so I apologize for my noob-ness. It is a 03 6mt cl-s. I bought the car knowing the clutch engaging pretty high on the pedal. I thought I would just take it home and adjust it like I have done with my Mazdas. However I discovered there isn't a clutch adjustment on these cars. The clutch was replaced not too long ago and its not slipping. Also when you initially start pushing in the clutch there is good feedback. But the pedal feel gets softer when you push it in all the way. Would bleeding out the system make the pedal feel stiffer? Or could the slave or master cyclinder be on its way out?

Thanks!!

I would assume that is just the characteristic of our clutch and you arent used to it yet. Just get used to where the engagement point is. I never push my clutch all the way down really besides when i get the hard clutch issues and press the clutch a few times to get it back to normal.

From what I can remember, our stock clutches engage quite high.

Im assuming your Mazdas used a clutch cable, not hydraulic. At first I didnt like it either, but you get used to it. Plus, you can run a heavier clutch without worrying about snapping a clutch cable.

I haven't run a stock clutch in over 6 months though. My current clutch engages low and fast.

Another normal thing is the RPM's will bump up on shifting. Have to get used to that too.

you should always fully disengage the clutch. partially pushing it in causes premature wear

As retarded as the clutch may be, one thing to try is bleeding it. Additionally, new and clean fluid can work things like that out. I've seen improvements on my own vehicles from bleeding/replacing.
