Question CD Player

I am recently experiencing a problem with my 03 CL-S. My CD player will not play some tracks on my Memorex CD-Rs. For example, one cd has 19 tracks. 1-15 may play fine but then 16-19 will either skip or not play at all.

I had a local dealership replace the deck, but the problem remains. The CD-Rs do not have a label on them.

I have re-burned these CDs three times using Windows Media 11 and the problem remains. Long story short, but this is my third deck and the first one would play my older Memorex CD-Rs just fine (I used Windows Media 9 before). I placed the cds in my home cd player and it plays just fine.

Any thoughts?

-Jay

Could be that you're burning them at a speed your cd drive does not support. Try burning them at 16x, I had the same problem.

That's a burning or media problem. Nothing to do with the CD player. Get new blanks & a new burner.

Still have problems

I just altered my Windows Media 11 to a slower speed, from fastest to medium, and the problem remains. I think I am on cd #10 that hasn't played correctly in my car.

For the last few months I haven't even listen to my cds at all.

Did you try burning them with something besides windows media player? And do normal cds, like ones you bought, play fine?

Yea I don't think its the Bose HU. There is a problem in the burning process or the the CD's. Just an idea but try using CD-RW instead of CD-R. Are you making .MP3 CD's or .WMA?

Problem persists

I just burned 2 more cds with Nero this time instead om Windows Media 11. I generated both a WMA cd and Audio Cd. The result............Same problem.

Tracks 1-10 play fine and then all of sudden like 11-18 skip, don't play and the cd player automatically changes to the next cd.

Normal Cds, like the ones I purchase from the store, play just fine.

I'll take a look into cd-rw.

All of my songs are wma.

Have you tried playing the disks in someone else's car? Maybe find a CL or TL owner in a parking lot & ask them if you could test it real quick.

Willing to bet its the Cd's themselves. Had the same problem with an aftermarket unit before. I believe it was an AIWA unit. The Cd's were cheap quality. I tried some different blanks with the same songs and the problem went away.
