A/C no longer cold

My car is an 01. The A/C is no longer blowing cold air. Is this the A/C broken or do i just need to get the freon recharged? How much should this run?

Brian, you might be able to fix it by going to the auto parts store and picking up some R134a refrigerant. This shouldn't be too pricey.

obviously it has a leak and he really should take the time to check it. After 9+ years i would not be suprised if a seal is compromised......

first check pressure, if it is low, gas definitely leaked. You can check for leaks with a color additive in the R134 or with a scanner. If pressure is ok there might be an electrical problem, check fuses, relay, ground connection

Where's the low-pressure port located on a CL? Are they color coded and of different size?

I have to recharge mine with 1 can per year...so I've got a 1 can/yr leak. Way cheaper to refill than fix.

But horrible for the environment and could escalate into more issues. If it runs entirely dry and you let moisture into the system, you'll be replacing EVERYTHING.

If you found the leak, replace the pipe. Most of the pipes are under $50 anyway.
