brake light is staying on

Just in the morning my emergency brake light in the dash will stay lit up even though the brake is off I looked in the manual and it could mean I need more fluid or new pads but im wondering why its only doing it in the morning. It has been happening in the past couple of days

Look at the brake fluid resivour. Make sure the foam doughnut isn't stuck for some reason.

check the fluid and make sure its at the proper level, make sure the e brake goes down all the way and nothing is stopping it, also check your pads.

sounds like you just need to add fluid.

If your pads are worn, espically all the way around, your fluid level will be down. Or, you could quite possibly have a leak. see any spots on the ground? reduced braking performance? I wouldnt drive 1 foot without fixing.

There was a period of time where that was happening to me...on and off.

I just opened the brake fluid cap and put it back on and it went away.

Maybe the float was messed up...

Mine did that an the culprit was i needed new brakes. After i had my brakes replaced and rotors resurfaced i was good to go. This might not be the case though.

If your fluid is low and you haven't added any, which you shouldn't because that light comes on when the float goes to a certain point in the resivour. Means that your brakes need attention, either pads or its leaking somewhere. It's somewhat comman sometimes for the float to get stuck. If the fluid is full, check the float. If its low, check to see if your pads are low if you know how to. Take it to a shop if you don't know what your doing. It's your BRAKES! you don't want anything to happen is something need to be replaced.
