Well actually, is it that you just don't know of any shops, or do you mean you know of a lot of crap mechanics out here?

I'd just hate to think I'm SOL

How about anyone in the norcal/ bay area? We have a lot of auto recyclers in rancho cordova so getting a tranny locally is pretty easy

Sorry to bring up an old post but my tranny is DONE , so im replacing it in a week or so But I just went to my mechanic and he freaked me out a little (Keep in mind this guy does alot of custom work but not on Hondas)

1- do the dowl pins match up ?
2- are the 04-06 trans all the same gear ratios
3- Does the TQ converter match up with out any MODs
4- do the splins on the axel match (because I saw that P.Diddy change them)

I figured all the questions to this would be yes but I wanted to know before I dropped 2gs and wife soon there after killed me for the insurance money LOL

also does anyone know how long the these trannys last because Im hoping I can get a least 100k miles off of this one

thanks

i would only buy the '06 TL tranny and the '07 TL tranny that would fit or an oddy tranny. i say contact nva-av6 to get the details you need. i only changed my axles because i broke them fucking around with my S/C. got a little too happy off the line.

Yeah this true or get an 06 Honda accord tranny.
Nva AV6 told me its the same tranny and they even have the same part number as the 04-06 tl.

07 TL trannys are very risky to get because I got one from a 3.2 base tl and when i sent the pics to NVA AV6 to see if it would fit and he said it would not fit.

Yeah that's not a bad idea but I'm on no rush to sell.
Nva AV6 is hooking me up with an 06 Honda accord tranny with less than 50k miles and also doing the Install.

It is the butterflies in the intake manifold and has no bearing on the tranny at all.

So just dropped my car and the trans off ended costing me 1200cad for the trans , its an 06 with 25 000 miles on it, I hope everything works out I may end up using the TQ converter out of the oddysse or would you recomend changing it and hes also going to change the filter

But not a bad price, I tried to haggle but the guy was a complete asshole and the nearest one was 250 miles away for 1000 so I figured what the hell

any ways wish me luck !!!

BTW I should of taken some video my trans is FUCKED needless to say it was an interesting drive to the shop LOL

Use the TC that came with the trans, if your tranny is that screwed it may have debris in it.

IMO someone should post exactly what all needs to be done, what to tell the mechanic concerning what needs to be done for the swap to work, etc. I'm sure when I get this done they'll bombard me with questions...

I'm just confused. At first it just seemed like it was almost a straight swap out, swap new one in. Now it seems a bit more complicated...

Cool, thanks!

Also, since I'm hoping to get a 05 odyssey trans put in my car, let me know how the trans feels compared to how you remember the CL trans feeling (when it was in good working order ). Do you think maybe the odyssey trans is a bit heavier than the CL trans, just because it was meant for a van?

I think its basically the same

and my trans never really shifted right, it was always fucked up when I would do 5mph coming up to a light and it would go green and I would give it gas It would clunk

Im scared of it feeling shaky or what ever. really I want to be able to put my foot to the floor at a light and not worrie but I dont think thats ever going to happen again (we will see)
