2001 Acura CL No Fire, I'm stumped.

The car turns over but doesn't start every time. When it does start, it dies after 10 or 15 seconds. I have checked for fuel pressure and it's good. I'm hearing a low buzz from the fuel pump and I've also remove the fuel line to verify it's working. I have put a timing light on one of the plug wires and I'm getting no fire to the cylinders when cranking. I'm getting a light when it's running ofcourse. I have also put a handheld scanner on it and I have no codes. I have read that the fuel injection relay under the driver's side dash can go bad and show the symptoms I'm getting but will it also kill the ignition?

I've also checked for a bad immobilizer and it seems to be working. The green key light on the dash goes out after I attempt to start the car. It blinks 4 times after I remove the key from the ignition and I've tried 3 different keys. So, now what? Any ideas?

Well, I installed a new fuel injection relay this morning but the problem still exists. Something is disabling the ignition after start up. It seems the car will start after an overnight wait but after it runs for a minute it shuts off. After that it won't start for the rest of the day. Anyone have any other suggestions?

Hmmm.....it may not be a fuel issue. Sounds more like the ignition switch is bad....

It's funny you mention that because I'm leaning toward replacing it next.

Installed the new ignition switch this morning and it did not help. I thought that surely would work. What else am I missing?

Is your starter solenoid gear getting stuck to the flywheel/ring gear?

No starters fine. I'm getting no fire to the plugs when cranking. Something is killing the ignition. Checked fuel pressure and its over 20psi. My gauge only goes to 20 and its pegged.

Have you checked for any blown fuses in the box under the hood and under the dash on the driver's side?

I'll keep thinking about it......

That's a good idea! A bad CKP and CMP (TDC) will jack up timing...just like a bad distributor/rotor....

Meh. Barely. The commercial looks pretty old, maybe I was in elementary school at the time
