03 CLS 6M High Speed Vibration

Greetings fellow Cl owners. My name is Chris and I live in North Redington Beach in central Florida.

Anyway... as the title states, I'm chasing down a strange vibration. I have replaced front, rear, and side mounts as well as the two trans mounts and both torque dampers. The vibration is pretty bad under WOT from 50 and up. I just bought new tires which were balanced so I guess that would eliminate a bent rim.

Any ideas????

Thanks!

Ball joints, tie rod ends, axles. Check those.

I'm chasing the same exact vibration. 50-65 mph. normally 65-90 is fine though. ONLY under acceleration.

I just bought some new axles, so i'm hoping thats it!

Thanks. I've pulled the passenger side axle out for inspection and it looked perfect. Also, the car has been on the lift and nothing appeared loose or abnormally worn. I just hit 100k last week. How long should ball joints last?

I fixed my axles today, both of them looked perfectly fine (cept for the CV boot on the drivers side)

Most of my vibration/wobble is gone. ALL of it is gone under acceleration. I think the remaining vibration is from my tires, the ones on my TL rims are prettty old.

what type of axles did you buy? They are balanced when they are manufactured. Did you happen to notice a balancing weight missing?

I bought the GSP axles from advanced auto parts. They come with a lifetime warranty.

I havent noticed anything about a balancing issue, they seem to be doing their job 100% correctly.
