01 Cl Misfire (Non-S)
It started as just a misfire on #5 and now is happening on 4,5 & 6.
Checked the gap on the plugs and swapped the 2 & 5 plugs to see if it would change the codes. No change.
Seems to happen after the engine gets warm and then turn the engine of and on, like going into the store and coming back out after a few minutes. Not sure if the misfire is happening when the engine is getting turn off or on restart. Keep forgetting to look for the check engine light when get back in the car, notice it when start driving again.
Another symptom is the TCS light will stay on when the check engine light is on. Need to turn the engine off and on (sometimes a few times) before the TCS light will go off.
Just swapped the 4 & 2 coil to see if get a misfire on 2 to see if it is the coils.
It started right after I got the tranny rebuilt. (Don't know if that is just coincidence)
Has 160K, mechanic said wanted to get this issue figured out before I have them do the timing belt(never changed).
Seems weird that it would be all the cylinders on one side of the engine.

This is weird because I had close to the same problems start happening on Friday. Same TCS light and service engine light on at the same time. Here are the codes
P0300 Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected
P0301 Cylinder 1 Misfire Detected
P0302 Cylinder 2 Misfire Detected
P0303 Cylinder 3 Misfire Detected
P0304 Cylinder 4 Misfire Detected
P0305 Cylinder 5 Misfire Detected
P0306 Cylinder 6 Misfire Detected
I think it has something to do with my transmission for some reason. But I hope we both can get some answers.

lucky for you guys my spark blew out of the engine i just replaced my Engine and now i think my trans is going.

1 - Valves out of adjustment
2 - EGR intake port clogged
3 - Dirty fuel injectors
Shop says #1 may do the trick all by itself (or may not), but recommend while they have it apart, they do all 3, to the tune of $1400!
Recommendations?

I was able to run my problem by an Acura Technician, also mentioning that other threads on this forum had mentioned the possibility of a bad O2 sensor or even a bad catalytic converter. His reply:
The shop is telling you correctly as to the possible causes, but the most likely of the 3 is the EGR intake port clogged. Many Honda/Acura's will experience this same issue. I've cleaned out tons of them and solved the misfire codes.
Of course with 111k, the valves may need adjustment, I will not argue that, but I would still lean more towards the EGR simply because I have had so many do the same thing.
It is rare to ever see clogged injectors. The fuel filters usually catch any debris long before it reaches the injectors. Cleaning them is not a bad idea, especially while you have the intake apart cleaning the EGR, but i still doubt the injectors are your problem.
As for the bad O2 sensor, or catalytic convertor, it is doubtful since no code was stored for either.
So I guess I'm off to have all three done. *gulp* I'll let you know if the CEL and TCS lights stay OFF.
(An aside: I wish more people would reply back to the forum with the results of their various attempts at fixes so we have a feel for what works and what doesn't. Just sayin' )

Just my .02$ I'd say 99% sure its a bad coil pack.(common In the acura 6 cylinders. The tcs and abs light is caused by the misfire, no acutal tcs or abs issue. Clear the codes, the first cylinder to set a code is usually the problem coil pack. P0301=misfire cyl #1, P0302=misfire cly #2 and so on. Good luck, let us know how you make out.

Yesterday, I took my car in to the shop I mentioned above in my post above. They adjusted the valves and said they were in dire need of it, even though they weren't making noticable noise, did an EGR port cleaning - check out the before and after pictures below.
They also tested the flow and spray pattern on the fuel injectors. Turned out that #3 was cracked and leaking, so it was replaced. Tests afterwards show an average flow increase of 5% across all the injectors.
You would not believe the difference (well, maybe you would ) in how smoothly it idles and how much more powerfully and effortlessly it accelerates - I bought this car in 2004 and I'm sure it wasn't running this well then!

I changed all the spark plugs as a continuation, mechanic suggested as a troubleshooting step. Haven't had the time to leave my car at the shop for them to do a diagnostic, will try to get it in next week.
BTW does anyone know where the EGR Intake Valve is located, I could probably do the cleaning if I could find it.
