Tell me what you think

I have been experimenting with the badges on my trunk. Everyone tell me what you think.

Close up.

I took off the stock o Badge. I used very fine sand paper so the paint would stick. Then i washed it clean and sprayed it flat black, with old fasion spray paint. I used 3 coats, no gloss coat.

Thanks

Pretty soon im gonna tint the top of my tail lights. Then it will set off better.

looks nice, i'm planning to do the same thing except i'm going to use gunmetal color so it's not as dark next to the silver....and i am also looking at lightly smoking the top area of the taillights.....this gives me a better idea...thanks

When you take the rear emblem off there are 2 little prong like things that hold it on. But i also used addhesive on the two sides to ensure it even more.

i think it looks kinda goofy without the 3.2 next too it...its like too small and looks randomly placed....take it off or put the 3.2 next to it.

edit:
im gonna borrow mystikk's car for a second...IMO this is how acura should have done the type S badge in the first place.....soooooo much cleaner

It will look 10,00% better if you remove the "Type-S!" badge. But just my opinion.

Yessir. Sorry. I should have specified. I like the grille. Looks real sharp. When did you get the 6speed?

Thanks. I got the 6 speed about a month ago. Before this CL-S i had a 2001 CL-S-Navi in Sundance gold. I love that color but over time it was just to much, plus i wanted a stick. I love this car. Yeah ill probably take off the Type S badge, that was the only thing i had to think about. Thats why i posted a picture of it.

It's pretty much just 3M tape, but once you put it back on the two little prongs hold it pretty good. (you will see what im talking about. To take it off, heat it up a little bit and get a peice of string. Run the string behind the emblem and it will pop right off. Then you just have to spend time cleaning the shit out of the spot it came off of.

And i used finger nail polish remover to chorme out my Type S Badge on my grille. It works good.

Hey Andy, I really like the look of your grille (and Mystikk's, too). Would you tell me what material or mesh you used for the grille?

And I can't quite tell - is the Acura "A" still present on the front, but blackened-out, like you did in the rear?

You can use anything really. from like lowes or home depot, gutter guard. I just went to a local motor sports shop and got a grille inseret and cut it out as you need it. No my a is gone in the front that is all mesh.

SWEEEEEET! It looks much better on your car! Thats fuckin money man. Nice job! See on my car i cant use Gloss Black, it wouldnt look right. Did you use Gloss? I used Flat Black. And i guess you sanded it down a little. It helps the paint stick much better.

yeah i used a flat paint too. but i put a few coats of satin clear coat on top so it gave it a little bit of a shinier look to it. but in person it has more of a flater look to it. plus the sun is reflecting on it pretty brightly too.

nobody in my family likes it though...but i could really care less i think it flows pretty nicely. and once i tint those tails tinted......oooowwwweee that'll look hot i cant wait.then ill really be stealthy.

Well you're gonna put it back on after you paint it. But you can just compound it out. Or if you work at a dealership or know anyone who works at a car dealer ship, you can get strong adhesive remover of some kind.

Mine's black too and I just took off my letters.

get all the glue off
use a light compound
then put a couple coats of wax on it

you should be golden after that. if not, buff it out if you must. I didn't have too but i keep the car waxed every couple of months.

i bet you've been doing alot of waxing lately. whatever helps to keep the car a little cleaner. it would be nice to have a couple layers of wax to have that shit slide right off, eh.
