New exhaust is in, Magnaflow's sound NUTS!

So I got the magnaflows today and sped off with Bigman to meinake to get them installed. Luckilly it was a really rainy day, which probably kept the shop empty, so we walked right in and they got to work, Welded the new mufflers in and the new resonator from their shop and it sounds GREAT, like a friggin videogame, with a nice metallic electronic note to them, no raspyness or fart can sounds, just deep tone and a litttle burble. here are some bad pics, with a nicer photoshoot coming once I get the difuser nbetween the pipes painted silver, some 20% tints, and the new thicker lip style spoiler. I went with the 14829 style 4" diameter double wall mufflers.

BTW, I had a car sounds cat, but I wan't sure if I wanted to install it, so I just left it out for now, maybe I'll sell it or install it down the line when i get bored.

Looks great! You should get some video clips of how it sounds so you can compare to my 14832's. What did you do with the resonator?

scanned pictures before reading first and thought they looked bigger than the 14382's (or whatever) that everyone else is running. looks cool.

Although I'm not really a fan of the silver diffuser part, I think it looks pretty kool. Nice car as always ron

I was going to get the Quad, but after I measured, it looked too tight a fit, and I knew you were getting them too, lol. I love these anyway, better sounding once the resonator was put it. without the resonator and a straight pipe welded in, it sounded way too raspy. Now I just have to think about putting in the cat in fro carsound, don't even know if it will have any weird effects or not.

Ok, got a few questions. What aftermarket resonator did you use? And it sounds like you heard the sound of the exhaust with no resonator, so what is the difference in sound after puting the resonator back on?

Iv got the 14832 with no resonator, and your right there is some raspyness to it.

the high flow cat wont give you sound, just higher flow of the exhaust.

well, I don't even kno what kind of resonator was used, but it looked like a 1.5 foot long can of soda with rounded ends and a hole running thru it. It sounded 100x better with it in than with a straight pipe where the resonator was. I'll see if I can shoot some pics of it, I think any muffler shop would have one. The sound is like darth vador screaming when the throttle is pinned I like to say, I love it. I kept the stock piping the same diameter, 2" i think it is. Sound clips comign once I get my camera in the car and a friend to film me driving by.

When i got mine done the mechanic asked me if i wanted a "cherry bomb" put in place of the stock resonator, so im guessing thats prob pretty much the same thing you have in place of your resonator now. I think im gonna have him put it in and see how it sounds

for some reason i like those tips. very nice.

ron - buy the random tech cat and return the car-sound one. i ran the car-sound one for awhile then sold it to matt (msw), and he reported a check engine light. i'm thinking the cat just died. but i've been driving on the random tech for awhile with no issues.

I don't think I'm going to put it in, the possibility of any problems would be enough to not put it in, the exhasut looks and sounds so good, I'm willing to leave it alone. Now for the spiler, tints and possible a swap of the CT icebox for an AEM red intake or a polished Injen.

You goober, I took pics of mine...and the resonator...I'll post up when I get off work.

I told you before that cat is great.

Maybe Excelerate (Josh) will let me post up the pic and label it, (One of the styles on his group buy thread) to make people want it more...

yeah i still need to take that off. the check engine light is still on. Ill be switching it with RT very soon.

Are car-sound cat's supposed to be silent? because the one jeremy sold me made my xs headers sound louder.

Nice looking exhaust you got there Ron, i dont think dual tips would fit with our (i mean your) bodykit.
