It's official. The parts I already have will be going on the car, but nothing more will be done. It will be strictly a daily driver and only maintenance will be done to it. Im most likely selling my other project car and all the parts and picking up another vehicle later this year/early next year, one that has a much better chassis. Looking back over the past 1.5 years, I realize I went way too fast through the mods. I had fun, I cant deny that, but I feel as though I spent money where it should not have been spent trying to make the car something it is not. I will be listing some parts up for sale in the BM, however I will not be parting the car out any time soon, so dont ask.

The CL is what we thought it was. If you wanna crown it, then crown its ass but the cl is what we thought it was.

Why is it that everyone looks down on a CL as not being sporty?
It weighs 3,449lb and is FWD, who cares? The power that this car has overcomes that.
This car is fast reguardless and it can kill most cars you see on the road anyway.
The engine on this car can power this "heavy FWD" car to 150mph easily and probably 165 if it didn't have to be limited.
Your car especially has a lot of power. Just build a turbo like rajca is doing and that will shut you up

No, the chassis cant handle it, and that power would be useless for daily driving duties.
The largest item Ill be listing for sale in the immediate future is the turbo kit I have. Ill also have the CF trunk for sale. Other then that its just a few non-stock parts that I wont be using. Ill post the FS link here when I do.
Fries - I can't tell you how many people said the same thing, but Ive been thinking about this for the past week or so. Why do you think there hasn't been many updates lately? Ive stopped working on the car about 2 weeks ago. Ive got some more stuff still planned, but thats only things that Ive spent money on already, so no new parts will be purchased.
I love the car, I love the motor, I hate the chassis. Having the same power at the wheels in the car Im looking at is breaking me into the low 13s/high 12s without breaking a sweat. Not only that, its lighter and will handle the twisties with ease.
Don't worry StreetKa, Im still planning on getting it dyno'd. Im also planning on bringing it to the track when it opens in the spring just to see what it can run.

That depends, its a toss up between that and another one. The one in the link has a higher "entrance" fee but is an amazing chassis. The other one Im looking at has a much lower "entrance" fee but can be built for less then the initial cost of the first option, and be just as fast. So basically, we'll just have to wait and see

One of them is an Elise, yes. I want the Elise of the Exige because its cheaper, less insurance, actually lighter then the Exige, I can still see out the back, and more of a sleeper in my mind with what I want to do to it.
And no, the MR2 is not on my list.

Having a monitor and camera is added weight. A simple mirror does the job well. And there will be no wings on my Elise.

I would be scared to drive an elise anywhere but a track. One hit from a suv or truck and ur dead.

Yea cl is basically a perfect daily driver for me. It has nice engine and power, I love the shifter for daily driving, can fit 4 ppl if you must, and has more trunk space than any car ive seen(can fit skis or my fishing poles in it), good gas mileage, cheap insurance, sleeper looking ppl think its slow, pretty rare now to see on road etc. I dont really want a track car for daily driving anyway. Always fun to have someone brag about their car and bash fwd cars then smoke them. I thought it was funny when I went to my acura dealer, they prob had 3-4 of the 3rd or 4th gen tls there getting work done and my cl was only cl there or on the lot. All 4-5 of the techs were over looking at my car and service manager told me the techs really like your car. I think you just went thru mods way too fast. you did more in a month then I did in my first 7 years of owning the cl.

A few more for your viewing pleasure:
And this pic cracks me up:
The Exige is the 6th car fromt he left, between the Z4 and the S5. You can just make out the roof

Im leaning towards the S2k since it will be fun for now. I can play around with it and AP1s are cheap (relatively speaking).
I can pick up a low mileage Elise for around $30k. Im alittle pissed that I didnt check the Lotus forums last summer when someone was selling an 08 Exige for $32k
But, I may finish up my Civic and have fun with that instead since I have all the parts already, I just need to put the damn thing together. I just need to find a decent body shop to paint it. Then when Ive gotten my fill of that, I can pick up an Elise and swap the motor from the Civic into the Elise. Im still trying to map things out for that, but one thing is for sure, the CL is done.

dont like those white wheels on there but easy enough to change though, but yeah that hood prop is sweet, you think they would at least get something a little more custom to hold it up, but do love the wiggens clamps though
damn that cars can move once it gets some traction, and that car has the "rear view" camera i was talking about, since you can't really see out the back anyways, don't see why the mirror is still there though, i'd just take it off, since pointless now (maybe you can watch to see if the motor has issues, but that's about it though), and with out a mirror, you can remove that rear window, and just put a sheet of carbon fiber or something over it, to cover it up, so it be less weight there also (and that weight is higher up to, so worth it, to get it as low as possible)
