Im heading out now to do some work. Hopefully I can break the bolts loose. Then Im heading to Home Depot for some bolts so I can redo my camera mount. Its sunny and "warm" (40*) so the ground is dry. Maybe I can get a video in later.

 

Couldn't undo the bolts because of the damn rust.

Im running to Home Depot now to pick up some stuff for a camera mount. Maybe I can get a video in this evening.

What bolts are you fighting with?

 

Cat to b-pipe. I had the same issue when I was installing the headers. I had to have the bolt for the cat cut off. The NY winters did not treat them well. I just wasn't in the mood to break out the sawzall today, so I said screw it.

One thing I noticed though is the wideband O2 isn't sitting square in the bung. I tried to fix it but it kept threading in sideways.

 

I will take a look when we meet back up here in a week or two.

And some time I end up taking the cat out with the b-pipe and unbolting the front of the cat, then attacking the nuts.

 

I thought about pulling the cat with it but if I had to cut the bolts off, I didn't have any good blades for the sawzall. I ended up doing some work on bike. Its going to start warming up soon (I hope) so I need to get it back together for this season. If I have the time during the week Ill try getting them unbolted.

 

DON'T cut the "BOLTS", they are actually studs that are screwed into the cat itself, so better trying to get the nuts off themselves, or taking off the heatshield first, and making sure you can get some bolts through there first or something, and being able to at least get it to bolt back up

so yeah remove everything together, so you can work on it not being under the car itself

 

cut them off. then pound out the remaining stud on a bench, insert new bolts or oem studs

 

eithier way needs to think of a solution first before, just starting to cut


and GL with just trying to just pounding those studs out

I don't have a heatshield on my cat anymore. That thing rusted away. Plus its a good weight savings. The front bolts had to be cut and pounded out. Im probably going to have to do the same thing again for the rear.
