I need honest opinions here...

I got these 19's from another member really cheap. They are Motegi FF7's. They need tires but I threw them on to see how it was gonna look. Honestly, I don't know if I like it or not. One thing is for sure though, I HATE the hard ride now compared to my stockies. I could deal with a hard ride from a 19 IF I really liked the wheels on the car, however I am undecided.

What do you guys think? Be honest! Do you like'em or hate'em? Please, don't tell me "buy a better brand", I just want to know what you think about the looks. Don't worry, if you tell me they flat out look like shit, it won't bother me.

Thanks!!!

I think the motegi's look alright. The color is nice. I'm not a fan of those "deep dish" lips IF the spokes are curved inward to create the dish illusion. I used to have a set of ADRs on my old car that had that look, and I got sick of it.

If you don't like them too much, I don't think they'll be able to grow much on you. Maybe you should invest in a set of nice looking 18"s to compromise between ride and looks.

Oh, BTW, they aren't gunmetal, they are hypersilver or whatever it's called. The pics make them look gunmetal IMO.

I was never fond of the gunmetal (thats what they look like) look, they look dirty when clean. Either gloss black, or some sort of silver. The design is ok. But then again I am biased, lol. For the harsh ride, 18" on 225/40/18 would be a good solution, and more of a drop. Either way, you can't have the best looks without some sort of ride comprimise.

i like em! i wanted to pick those up for myself, but you jumped all over them.
what if you changed the tires on them? those look like LOW pros, and looks like you have some room to work with in your fender, maybe a lil higher tire will smoothen er out a lil bit

I thought about going up to a 225/40/19 but I don't want to throw off the diameter. They are currently 225/39/19's.

Thanks for the comments guys, keep'em coming!

Looks ok to me... But, I'd never go with 19's for the reason you listed (harshness)...

I like my 03 stockies..... But I would consider going to 18's in the summer...

Honestly, they look a lot better than I anticipated. They go well with your black car. You can get a 225/40/19 and get your speedo recalibrated for nothing. And it'll be fine. And that's my honest opinion.

chris. those wheels suck!
they look like crap on your car. get rid of them. i'll take one for the team and take them off of your hands.

as a fellow NBPer, i gotta say those wheels look pretty nice. those really aren't deep dish. they have like the perfect lip. and i am going gunmetal no matter what wheel i get.
i do think you should look into a higher profile series for your car and your back's sake.

p.s. i just might pick 'em up if you don't want them.

But they'er silver!

Do you guys think I'd rub at all with a 40 series tire? The wheels are (I think...) 7.5" wide with a 45 offset. It's seems like I'd have plenty of room even with the H&R's.

Again, thanks for the comments! Keep 'em coming!

Oh, for what it's worth, they were filthy dirty (as well as the car) in those pics. I just steam cleand the hell out of them this afternoon and now they look way better than before.

those rims look alright! I tought about getting those...but I didnt think that color goes well w/ the black. Sorry, that is my opinion. I know a lot of people like tha look.
More of a "tuner" look. Have fun with em.
The ride quality goes down bad, huh?

I was worried about that. That is why I have gotten some 18's.

that's cos it is higher. wider diameter wheels do that.
it doesn't look bad in this case.

I think I'm going to take them of tomorrow for the rest of winter. If something better comes along between now and then, maybe I'll go a different route... Possibly gold or bronze with a polished lip. I've never seen it on a 2nd Gen before but I'd like to.

One thing is for sure, they are growing on me but I still don't think it's the look I really want to go for.

Does anyone know if I will rub with 235/35/19's like mattg suggested? Again, the wheels are 19x7.5 w/45 offset.

I was actually thinking it made the car sit lower. That's kind of what it looks like in person. I just figured it was the super short tires that made it do that.

If I saw your car I wouldn't think anything of it. Looks fine, the color works well with the NBP. I would be the first to tell you it looks like shit if I didn't like them.

I thought my car sat up a little higher with my 19"s on, and that's how my friend explained it to me. Made sence to me. The larger diameter wheel will bring the lugs/axles/whatever up higher, which in turn brings the car up a little further.

but then the lower profile tires offsets that height, no?

just deaden the doors and stuff. that should eliminate a bit of the road noise you're having...

as for the hard ride -- well yeah, you just get used to that.
