Calling all CL owners w/ 04+ tl rims
I'm thinking about getting some rims for my CL as the stock CL-P rims suck. I've seen some rims, but i havent seen many after market rims i like on the CL, or more correctly that i would like to have on my car forever. But in the few pics i've seen of our CL's w/ the 3g TL rims i love the way it looks, they just fit the car, and i've always been a fan of simple 5 spoke rims.(and i dont plan on dropping the car, i know, 4x4, but thats why i'm sticking w/ stock acura rims, and not getting some extravagant showpieces)
So here's my request. Please, if you have the TL rims on your CL, show em off to me, all angles. I just want to get an idea of what they look like on the car. I would love to see some SSM w/ chrome tl rims(would be the combo i go for), but any will help me get a feel for what i could expect my car to look like. Thanks in advance.

Well that pretty much seals the deal, those rims fit the cl great imo, though i've still yet to see them in person(on a CL, i like the way they look on a TL). Still looking for someone with a set of chrome ones on their car, possibly a SSM? I know we got some more out there. Help motivate me to get another stock cl off the street. Thanks in advance.

If a tire rubs with the suspension fully compressed, I don't consider that to be a setup that rubs. If I ran a 225 I wouldn't "rub".

lets put it this way......
not lowered = no rub
lowered = rub...the lower it is, the more rubbing there will be, the max you are going to able to lower it is probably 2..2 1/2, if you dont want to rub
everybody happy?

first off, your suspension is far from "fully compressed". your suspension is an eibach set up of all things. your drop is conservative. you're running a 235series tire on your wheels to accomodate the 8" width of the wheel and you have a 45 series sidewall. by running 225 series on your wheel you end up doing what they call "stretch tire" and that fitment is incorrect. ya, you won't rub, but if you had aftermarket wheels on them you'd look like you were just putting your lip out there to be scratched by road debris.
that's what i've been trying to convey to the

Fact of the matter is, you can rub with stock rims and tires also. If you don't believe me, hit a dip doing 60 and tell me you aren't rubbing.
And have a nice day.

I'm just having trouble seeing how a wheel is "wrong" because I can get it to rub when I drive hard, just as the stock wheel would.
edit: I just realized my error with the 225 compared to my 235, touche. It still rubbed with stock wheels and a 225 tire. I was a bit under the influence when I typed that response last night.

That shows what smokin weed will do to ya.....I didn't even remember last night that I threw stockies on and the same shit happened. Before I had thrown those stockies on, I thought I rubbed because of my 235's. I realize my error. My bad.
