After an exhausting detail session...

... I was able to bring those NBP flakes to shine through again. This was in preparation for the upcoming SD beach meet. Pictures from that will be up by next week. It looks like we'll be in for a good showing of 2nd Gen CLs. Enjoy.

looks good.. Your rims are starting to grow on me. What kind of rotors and pads are you using and any sign of warping yet?

those would be Rotora crossdrilled and slotted rotors purchased from Excelerate and EBC Redstuff pads i got from AJUSA. the combo works great along with the SS lines. no dusting at all. come down for the meet on Saturday!

i use only Meguiar's products. this time i used their NXT car wash, claybar, Scratch X, Deep Crystal polish and NXT wax. all applied with the G100 DA polisher. the pics do not do justice to how good it looks. dinky little pocket Canon.

Looks really good Luis! It looks like I can swim in that NBP paint. Wish I could make the SD meet. Some day... some day.

i'm loving the blacked out look, you should just tint your entire 01 tails, and it would be perfect.

beautiful as always Luis, nice and clean!

sorry to pick out the flaws but is that condensation in your drivers side headlamp? (judging by the last picture taken)

i had bought the Rockblocker tint for the tails. i tried it on and i didn't like it. so i sold them. i really like my black and bright red rear though. if i come by some '03 tails, i'll tint the bottom.

yeah, that is condensation. the shop said that they had placed extra screws and sealant and that they wouldn't leak. but unfortunately, both do. the left more than the right. too bad the shop that did the work is almost three hours away. otherwise i would've tooken them back asap. i washed the car in the morning before these pics hence a little water was in there. it goes away after a full day in the sun though.

for the handles, i painted them myself. turned out pretty good. for the trim around the windows, i used Trimbrite's black out tape. here it is on amazon.com:http://www.amazon.com/Trimbrite-T900...4953434&sr=8-1
it takes a little patient, but goes on and stays well.

Is it just me or does your car sit a little higher in the back than the front? It's the complete opposite of the way my car sits with my H-Techs.

Those wheels are money!

Everyone always thought I was crazy when I was considering them for my car, but they look @ home on your CL.

that's the Comptech for you. one of the reasons they did so was to constantly keep weight forward on the front tires. putting power to the ground.

good posts. thanks guys.

Looks freakin' awesome, Luey. Other than Stealth/JohnBlayze, you have the bestest older NBP paint.

I'd recommend using Ardex New Wave spray before washing the car......it does wonders to white and black paint.

hey Anthony. what happened? we missed you at the meet. there are some meter maids who are always busy in this part of town who have given me tickets for either no plate or for "plate position".

so i just figured it's a little better to have mounted as i do than with the stock bracket.
