Tuned using Dezod AEM EMS

Hey guys, I picked up the Dezod AEM Kit. I was a bit disappointment that they advertised as “everything works” but my temp gauge. They switched boxes causing the temp gauge to work. They were selling the kit with the AEM 6050 box but switched to the 6051. After a little hassle I got them to send me a aftermarket gauge.

JDM J32a

Comptech Supercharger - 5lb pulley

550cc Bosch Injectors

Aeromotive Fuel Pressure Regulator

Walbro 255 Fuel Pump

Aftermarkert headers

3” Highflow cat to 3” Greddy Supreme SP muffler

Clutchmasters Stage 1 Clutch w/ OEM Flywheel

310whp 267tq the car was tuned in +90 degree weather. I plan to take it back here in a week or to to have the tune touched up.

Nice CLS. That's an automatic transmission, correct?

I had just about the exact same setup with a 5 lb pulley on my 6-speed CL and just waited too long to get it tuned before the engine blew. Now I have swapped a J35a3 and haven't put the Comptech S/C on yet. I bought an AEM EMS series 2 for it and just haven't had the time yet to mess with it, but not sure what jumper I need to make it work on my manual (6-speed) wiring harness

I did the same exact thing. I blues my precious motor a couple months ago running 5lbs untuned. It actually went while it was on the dyno! After I purchased the AEM EMS from Dezod. That’s when I picked up the JDM J32a with 50k miles from HMotors.

Congrats and thanks for the response. I thought I read that you had an auto.

You may already know this; however, the dyno you see, with 330whp @ 6 psi, on Dezod's webpage for the CLS 6-speed AEM EMS unit is a fellow member here named R J Poseidon 6. Not sure if he still has his 6-speed though. He had it tuned by the folks at Kings Performance in Orlando, FL. IIRC'ly you two are the only one's that have the Dezod unit. Hopefully, your tuners can find at least 20 whp or more upon your next visit.

P.S.:
Just curious, how did you end up deciding on the Dezod unit in the first place?

I have to admit I was expecting more power. My tuner is well versed and has been doing it for years. He tuned another CL same setup and it made around the same amount, so IDK. I was also told Dynapacks read lower than mustang dunks or dyno jet. Definitely expect to see more with the cooler weather now though.

I decided on the Dezod kit becuase that pretty much the only tuning option as I didn’t want to use AEM FIC or Greddy. It’s been great so far, 2-step sounds crazy with the blower. Haha

That's probably where you will find the extra HP. It appears you have all the supporting mods to certainly get there.

Question: Do you have the CT-Engineering high boost pulley on the alternator OR a Custom pulley on the blower shaft?

If you want a 'plug n play' set-up, that's pretty much what I've heard as well.

I've heard that the automatic guys CL/TL's can run an AEM EMS V2 because it is made for the automatic harness. This is the set-up that Karanx7 is using with his blown J35A3 in his TL-P 6-speed conversion.

If possible, once you get everything ironed out, post a nice video from, perhaps, a 20mph roll through that sweet third gear pull so we can hear that S/C'er whine.

The only thing I can recommend to increase HP, if you are up to spending more money, is to consider a similar set-up like 2ndgentl had:
The pictures below show the 09 TL intake manifold; Blox 76mm throttle body and intake spacer on his original J32A2 before it grenaded. He's had a lot of success with these.

Maybe he will come back to your thread and elaborate a little further.

What's up Zeta! I need some motivation to put this supercharger back on again! Weather is starting to get better here in Florida which is giving me some motivation because I know I won't be pouring sweat as I'm working in my garage. My only dilemma is the AEM EMS Series 2 that I have won't work on my manual wiring harness, so I don't know where to go from here. I ended up with the AEM EMS series 2 because I bought it for a price that I couldn't turn down. I haven't done much research but I hope there's a jumper someone makes to work on the AEM EMS series 2 with the manual wiring harness and the j35a3. All I really need to do after that is beef up my fuel hose, and get bigger injectors ( which I already have; rc injectors 550 cc @ 60 psi ). I'm dying to put the supercharger back on, kind of getting bored of the N/A power already, even though it does pull really strong.

Did you have to modify the piping from the Comptech kit when you put on the 09 TL intake manifold? Or did. It bolt right up?

I’ve also been considering adding a FMIC. Are the benifits really worth it? Anyone running one?

Hi 2ndgentl, I hope all is well with you. I don't blame you for wanting to put the S/C'er back on, I love the whine as well, hehe. I want to see that beast of yours on the road again with some boooooost, lol.

The only thing I can recommend on the AEM EMS series 2 is to ask @Karanx7 on whether or not any kind of 6-speed 'jumper' harness can be had, commercially, for your version AEM EMS box or not. I tagged him on this thread, so hopefully he will get a PM message and chime in with any options available. I'm thinking not though, hopefully I'm wrong.

I just had to use the p2r adapter but I had to mil it down half the thickness to fit just right. If you zoom in the picture you'll see it.

I had the car retuned today with the 7lb pulley which actually made 8lbs of boost on all pulls. My clutch was slipping bad on the dyno but she picked up 12hp and 22tq. 322hp 290tq.

I've heard some good things about XLR8's clutches. 2ndgentl has one on his CLS6. You would have to talk to them, XLR8, about availability. They also use to just sell the clutch and pressure plate if you wanted to keep costs down and not purchase the LW flywheel. Their system is supposed to give you 'just a little more' clamping force over OEM while retaining OEM ease in applying the clutch.

The XLR8 clutch that I have is comprable to a stage 2 clutch, and it's been great so far, but the only reason why I went with that clutch was because the pressure plate is a lot beefier than a stock OEM clutch. I bought the kit that came with the clutch and the aluminum flywheel from XLR8. I believe it was the DD kit. I don't know if you remembered but a while ago I posted about how my OEM pressure plate broke inside the bell housing and it destroyed my AASCO aluminum flywheel sensors also my cam shaft position sensor. I just don't think an oem stock pressure plate can handle more than 250 whp. I broke mine before I put the supercharger on, I don't think I was pushing more than 270 whp at the time.

LOL, oh yeah, I remember.
Hey, did Santa find you that 6speed compatible 'harness' you need to get that AEM EMS 2 up and running?
I thought you stated in one of your other threads that boomslang made one, or something. Just curious.

I haven't done anything yet with my S/C or the AEM series 2. I had it in my mind that I would get wider tires first to help with the spinning. So I ordered new tires last week and I just got them today and had them put on. I got 4 new Falken Azenis 255/40/18's. I literally just came home from trying them out and I do have to say that I am impressed with these tires. 1st gear hooks A LOT better but still spins if not careful, and 2nd seems to stick to the ground all the way through. The roads being cold doesn't help, but my old tires (235/45/18 hankook ventus rs3) would spin with no effort at all. So now that I have good traction I will proceed with the S/C and find out what I need to make the AEM work

will that ems run the wm? i know the aem kit comes with a controller but it would be way better if the ecu could control it more precisely.,

The website states:

AEM EMS Acura CL Type S 01-03

'Our newAEMTUNERsoftware is infinitely adjustable software and allows tuners to program virtually any combination of engine control, power adders and auxiliary devices'.

It does not specifically mention 'meth injection control'; however, that perhaps can be utilized under one of the other functions like 'Wet & Dry Nitrous Control'?
