6 speed performance mods

Wondering what would be the best setup for runners and intake manifold. Should I port/polish mine or get the 3.5 manifold?

you will lose IMRC if you use the 3.7 manifold, so you'll lose some tq down low.

J engines love air so p/p your runners, manifold and run a bigger TB.

So I have the chance to get Im & runners p/p for a great price local. I eventually want an s/c and my goal is 400 to the wheels. Is the difference performance wise worth getting the 3.7 or 3.5? I'm also getting the plenum manifold spacer with the Im and runners. All for 450

there is lots of info on the 3.7 manifold if you search. They're lighter, magnesium which is better for heat dissipation but no one has got the IMRC to work properly on the CL. So you'll lose some low end, gain some high end. I would stick with the 3.2 ported.

You won't hit 400 to the wheels on a comptech supercharger. You'd have to get Gerzand's custom rotrex supercharger to hit that power. Are you auto?

Manual. I have the white with black interior. I was planning on upgrading the final drive to a 3.8. So I'll p/p all manifold & runners. Should I bore out the throttle body?

Yes bigger TB will compliment the porting. A 4" intake will as well. You can send the TB to maxbore who can get the oem one to about 70mm. Or you can get a 76mm blox b series TB.

no P2R discontinued them, but someone makes plenum spacers which is basically the same thing. I think that's what he's referring to.

There's a guy selling a 3.5 mdx spacer already milled down to fit the 3.2. I was going to get the actual spacer made from p2r. Is there any noticeable difference in performance?

oh you're talking the manifold spacer, not the manifold plenum spacers. There are dynos somewhere around this site, but you'll get a small bump in torque. The P2R spacer is a milled down MDX spacer, no difference.

Good advice from gnuts.

I'd stick with j32a2 manifold. 3.7 IM isn't really worth losing butterflies. You can port IM for a 74mm TB. If you want a bigger TB you need to add material to IM neck or go with 3.7 IM.

For TB you can use bored oem, b series with prank parts adapter plate, or k series with custom adapter plate.

Get P2R Plenums or plenum spacers, MDX horns, and port runners.

I sold my PR2 IM spacer because it didn't line up that well with my manifold. Could be worth it if you want to shift PowerBar lower, but if I purchase again would buy MDX and mill it down instead.

So I'm having my runners and Im p/p'd. Have a mdx spacer that will be installed. What gains am I looking at so far? I'm gonna do the tb and intake later. Hopefully that and a tune can get me close to 300whp. Is it worth getting a clutchmaters stage 2 clutch and lw flywheel? I read that they don't last as long as the oem ones + I plan on doing a 3.94 final drive upgrade. Thoughts?

The MDX spacer will give you some low end torque at the cost of high RPM power. It also won't fit under the hood without milling it down a bit. With the PnP and the spacer, you'll gain some torque and maybe break even on power. Not sure about PnP gains though, so don't quote me.

Lol what? No way dude. You won't hit those numbers on a NA 3.2L. Also, you can't really tune the stock ECU. Some people have used eManage Blue with some success (others not so much). Also there's the AEM FIC, but I don't know if anyone has found success with that. Either way, you don't need tuning if your still a NA 3.2L.

There are some guys that came pretty close. I'm pretty sure there's a way without going fi. The final drive upgrade should definitely help but it's like 1200 for the parts only

Brian is fully bolted and tuned and he's not over 300. Check out his thread on the main page.

Yea, I think he's pushing ~285whp, but don't quote me. He's done pretty much everything you can do to a 3.2L NA, and I don't believe you'll ever get 15whp more than that without a custom cam or something.

I’ll post the new build and dyno #s shortly. Have a rotrex sc, ported heads, web cams and some other stuff.
