Are you guys/gals planning on keeping...
your CL or CLS past the 100,000 mile mark? I would especially like to hear from members who have had their trannys replaced. Thanks.

I'm kind of in limbo right now... I usually keep my cars for 100K+ miles, but after having a tranny swap I'm wondering if I should get out while I can. However, not having a car payment is pretty nice...
I dunno. If the right opportunity came along, I'd really consider it.

I know what you mean regarding not having any car payments...I only owe $10k then it's mine, however with the blown tranny I had a few months ago and 20k miles left on the warranty I think I'm going to let her go.
The only thing that really interests me is the Subaru STI (thankfully I'm #2 on the list). The G35c 6 spd is nice too, but I don't get the heebee geebees when I think about the STI
Still undecided though due to the STI's low rent interior, but I think I can over look that!

Wouldve kept this car as long it kept running (nearly) trouble-free. But knowing ACURA's tranny problem becomes OUR problem after 100k is not exactly comforting.
Peace of mind (reliability) was a huge factor for me in considering this car and its not exactly playing out well. If it wasnt, then i'd be driving a bmw right now.
Acura needs to do a recall otherwise its outta here...

why not? had 188K on my Legend, 201K on my Toy 4x4, and since I don't have the POS auto tranny, see no reason that this one won't easily see the 100K+ mark.

Hoping to keep it 100K, but I too have the non-defective (knock on wood) manual transy. Other than the slushbox, from the more senior folks on the board the only other gripes in reliability seem to be the rotors and the rattles. I'll get some Brembo blanks sometime (if I need 'em), and with any luck she should run well for me for 100K+.

I also normally keep a car 6-7 years and 100k or so (I drive 17k per year). I still like it at 49k but am a little afraid of the tranny issue too. I might let it go at 80 or 90k. I am on the original tranny....knock wood. I owe about $8k on it now.

So far so good on my '00 TL....149,264 miles and same tranny, and I'm pretty hard on it too. I downshift on the highway to 4th or 3rd all the time. Lucky so far I guess.

Well my situation is my CLS is paid for, so I have TOO much to lose at this point, so I'll be keeping for a long time or till I get tired of it, so far, I'm still in LOVE with it ! :P

I've got 136K on my tbird, which I've owned for the 9 years. I plan on keeping my CLS for about the same. I had a 60 month loan on the tbird, so it was paid off about 4 years ago. It was so nice not to have to make a car payment every month.

I'm keeping mine until sometime after next Feb. That's when my tickets drop off and my insurance drops BIG TIME.
I've never even had a ticket in the CL! And I've had it for 3 years. Things from the past haunting me still!
So after next Feb, I'll sell it, and get an //M3. Prolly a certified pre - owned one with low miles! NO more NEW Cars EVER again. I took a bath on the CL-S!

I've had my CL (1998 2.3) for almost 5 years now. Getting close to 100K. I am going to sell it in a couple of weeks and getting something new.
I must admit, I've met some cool peeps at the CL meets!!! People I'll be hanging out with for a while!!
If I had a CL type S, I don't know what I would do. They are a hell of a lot nicer than my 1st gen..
