YET another PROBLEM (aligning wheels)

This one's not so bad, but as some of u may have read, i have put on 19's and they rubbed in the back...Well, i got that fixed by rolling the fender, now, all i need is a 4wheel alignment, and guess what?

The majority of car shops and tire shops, cannot align my car becasue 1) their equipment is not made to do 19 in wheels, (max is 18in), and 2) becasue my car is lowered, they cannot get it up on the machine, and place the senors on it.

So now, what should i do? Does anyone know if they try to align my car, itll fuk up the wheels?

I know alot of u on this board have 19s and a drop, so please give me some suggestions.

Anyone in So. CAli know of shops that are equiped with such machines and adapters for my car? I have seen 20's and even larger, there must be a way for those pple to get alignments.

thx

Okay here is a trick from my book of " Car Mechanics for Dummies"....

Just slap on stock wheels and do an alignement.. that would solve the proble of 19" wheels and no-adapter BS...

As being lowered and Can't get your car on the Hunter's Machine.... Just, raise your car.. have some spring inserts between the coils and then lower it back (not sure if this would fuck the alignment)... but that would solve the problem of car being too low..

However, if you put in the spring inserts and do the alignment it won't be true when you remove the inserts. Hopefully they can do the alignment with the original wheels, and don't require changing the springs drop.. YMMV

They should be able to align a lowered car......how low is it? My dealer wouldn't align my car with the 19"s on becasue they didn't wanna scratch them

you can put your stock wheels on to get it aligned, but you should be able to find a shop that can do it with your 19's.

As far as your car being too low...You'll need to call around and find a place with an alignment "pit" rather than an alignment rack. This way you just drive onto some tracks over a pit instead of driving up a ramp onto the rack. I'd call up your local performance import shop (there's about 100000000 of them in So. Cal) and ask them for a reccomendation.
