Yes, There Will Be A 2004 CL...Maybe?

I had to meet with the Acura Zone Manager today to show him that I had a problem with the paint on my hood. I asked him if there was going to be a 2004 CL or was it going to be discountinued? He said, "As far as I know there will be a 2004 CL. I don't know anything else." Hmmmmmmmm, well, I guess we'll have to see.

There were some sections of the hood that didn't get the full paint job. The dark spots are the areas where you can see the primer showing through. He used a digital gauge to determine the thickness of the paint. To make a long story short, the hood has to be repainted...under warrranty of course. He measured the paint on other new cars at the dealership also. They ranged from 4.5 to 6.5 rating. Mine was 5.5, except of course for the areas on the hood.

all i know is my dad(which has been at HONDA OF AMERICA FOR 20 YEARS) He talked with a few guys over him about the future of the CL and they said they were very concerned about the CL's sales. I asked him what he thought they were going to do he said " they are going to axe the CL for 04 " but if it makes feel any better he thinks they will replace it with some other coupe(like the CL did with the Legend)

By the way he thinks the next generation RL he think will have HONDA'S 1ST V-8

I dunno anymore... i mean the new accord coupe looks exactly like the CLS (maybe better) with same options (even more) than the CLS, and now i heard the accord will get a OEM bodykit right away. Now if that doesnt sound like the CLS is a red headed step child.. then i dont know what is.

Personaly, i think they will drop the CLS, and make a super coupe to give the G35 coupe a hot run!!

My bud works in the Ohio plant as an engineer. He said the CL is definitely a goner for '04. Oh well, maybe they'll bring something better back in a few years.

My feeling is that they upgraded the Honda Accord to take the place of the CL. The 240 hp on regular gas engine plus other upgrades on the outside and inside shows that this is possible.

I don't know, Honda had to upgrade the Accord to compete with the Altima and others. If anything it should mean an even more impressive CL to keep it a level above the Honda.
