Yes, another question about a road lamp idea

I was looking on the site ( http://ledautomotive.com/index.asp ) imposss posted on his picture thread because I was interested in the gauge l.e.d's he had and I was thinking as many have before about possibly putting l.e.ds in the road lamps. I did my searching on AZ and it seems that the lights only project on an area and usually aren't too bright because they only project straight ahead and don't reflect.

I looked on the site and found these http://ledautomotive.com/OrderInfo/M...RadialInfo.asp and I was thinking since these have the leds not only aiming forward, but also around, that this may off-set this. Anyone use these before? The colors available are blue, red ,hyper white or green. I'd probably go with the hyper white or blue.

I probably won't...i usually avoid anything . Only considered it if it would match the low beams better than hyper white depending on people's experiences.

no LED will ever produce the same amount of light distribution as a regular bulb.....I cant wait 'till everyone with fogs realizes that they will NEVER match the true HID look and they will never get a bulb that will last withough blowing up or melting the plastic housing.

Cliff notes.....just get the '03 spacer.

Ahh, maybe... just maybe, one of these days... Long after I'm gone... You guys will leave the damn roadlamps alone. If you want them to match your HID's, insert PIAA #19224 bulb and leave them alone. You don't NEED additional light output. You already have HID's. So why waste money on any HID kit, or anything like that. Isn't that enough?

The other night I had someone follow me in my car because I was taking my other vehicle from one place to another. Even from a distance and with some of the blue coating scratched off the PIAA's, they look nearly identical to the HID's in my rear view mirror. They even LOOKed like fogs. It surprises even me. Guy's, if you don't believe me, try it yourself. Switch cars with one of your buddies and let him or her follow you for awhile (let the HID's get up to temp) with the lights on. Try it in the dusk even, it doesn't have to be completely dark outside. Just like in this pic, they look nearly identical. WTF would you want to bother with anything else? If you don't like them at all, do what o2cls said and get the '03 inserts and get rid of them.

No offense to the O/P'er but I swear this has been beaten to death time and time again. Why not use something that's already been proven instead of throwing away money on some other crap?

They aren't fog lights people. They never will be! Sheeeshhh!

Maybe get a better pic. Don't take the pic in the middle of the beam of light either. Take it off to the side and slightly above the beam.
