I'm still scheduled for the dyno the 3rd or 4th of May, we'll see if there is a viable alternative then... Hrmm, I got pretty good at cutting that 1" plate aluminum on a drill press and table saw, maybe I could make some more. Anyone want to donate to the next IVF cycle.

There is nothing like //M Power

 

That is the idea, although not a new one (240 HP versus 315 HP). A '99 or '00 would be fine with under 25k miles. But with the Dinan blower power goes up to nearly 330 HP and about 280 lb/ft, that should be fun.

Life is what you make it and if things are not going the way you planned, make it enjoyable in another way... But as an aside, I'd rather keep the CL-S and get waken up at early hours...

Oh, and BTW, no dyno on mine this last weekend. It was cancelled and I would have needed a canoe to get to it.

Guys if he was really working on it don't you think he'd post updates every once and a while? I haven't seen any in months. He should if he's looking for buyers eventually. Funny thing is everybody's acting like he's gonna be giving these out for free or something...all worried about bothering him etc. You've got it all backwards. He's the seller, you guys are the buyers. He's going to make money off you people if he ever makes it so he should be kissing some customer ass!! Why shouldn't you be able to ask for some updates on the f'n thing?

 

I'm actually getting in late and driving out to Norristown. The next day will be full of meetings and then fly back to Atlanta that evening. So unfortunately no leisure time, but I'll be heading back soon enough and maybe then...

Hmm weird how I find myself switching sides...I want to make two points to all you guys...this coming from a guy who was bitching about it the same way you were a few months ago.

1) This part currently doesn't exist for our cars. And if it ever exists...it will probably be through this guy. He is making some money off of these, but not much. And I can tell you guys that I am SURE he has put enough time into these to more than compensate for the money he is making. Realize that he is doing this FOR us...and if you quit or give up or lose interest, you won't have it anyway...so why are you bothering yourself with it? Just chill out and wait...if it comes, it comes, and if it never gets made you're not out anything anyway.

2) I started the trim/sills groupbuy back in the beginning of March, which was TWO MONTHS AGO, saying I hoped to have it done in a month. Lots of things happened, kinks that had to be worked out, people didn't show up, missed one another, lots of phone tag etc...and you all know about Tim's hostile takeover which I was busy defending myself from for about 2 weeks. Even so I'm ONE MONTH OVERDUE! A full month guys, and this is just trim. You guys aren't breathing down my neck because I've tried my best to keep you updated. But I go and answer stuff on this forum like...daily. And I own a TLS...and I'm buying a set of trim/sills so I have a vested interest. This guy has a full time job he has to worry about, and I doubt he's buying these...maybe he is. Point is, even if you guys gave me crap it wouldn't matter...I'm doing this for you. This is something you wouldn't have otherwise, just like this RES thing.

3) There's nothing more depressing to a guy in the middle of a groupbuy than to hear people badmouthing him, threatening to harrass him, saying they're giving up etc. I was accused by Lawaia and NSXNEXT (though I think he sees now that he heard wrong) that this sills/trim thing was some huge moneymaking scheme I had. Stuff like that really upset me...just as I assume that if he ever reads this stuff or you guys go complain to him...it'll make him lose faith.

So I suggest that someone, one person, once a week...get updates from him (TypeR?) just like I have been with our trim/sills...see what's going on...see if we can help in any way...blah blah blah. Otherwise just sit back and relax guys...if it wasn't for this guy, you wouldn't have it anyway.

In no way should people be knocking Doug for not releasing the product or not giving updates. The only fault I find Doug made, is mentioning a product that was truly a viable piece yet.

Regardless of developing a prototype, you are still only 1/3 of the way there. You still have to determine manufacturing methods and then marketing along with distribution, before you can determine a price.

Doug made the mistake of talking about something before all of the bits and pieces were put together. I am sure Doug works hard and does well in his proffession, he just might not be the best business manager.

If he had never mentioned this potential product there would just be one less major topic to cover.
