XXR Rims Question

Anyone successfully put a pair of XXR 530 rims on their CL?

Im looking at 17x8.25" 5x114.3 +35MM Offset

From what I have seen, they clear the brembos on a TL-S so can anyone confirm they can clear RL Calipers that I will be putting on my CL?

Scotty, XXR rims can come in any configuration you want!!

remember, there are LOTS of factors when trying to fit wheels.

17x8.25 +35 isnt too much more than stock TL wheels.

the RL calipers are i think bigger than the 3G brembos.

If I were you, i'd go more aggressive than that!
no one likes a weak set of rims, especially if you're trying to clear a BBK

those are not that weak. I have the same specs except mine are 18s. They are flush and i rub in the rear with rolled fenders.

Remember stock CL is 7 wide +55. Stock 3rd gen TL is 8" wide +45 so you guys can run more agressive rims easier.

I've "heard" that if rims clear the TL brembos that they'll clear the RL calipers. You might want to go up to 18s though. I believe with 17s you have to shave the bracket bolts from rubbing the rim barrel. Plus 18s look better.

Is there a significant difference in ride quality between the 17" and 18"? I wouldn't mind going with 18" because they deff will look better. But the roads are crap over here in Dallas!!

wouldnt that be a width problem and not a height one?

you said his suggestion was weak....did you mean offset/width or height? I assumed you meant offset. I think that's a fairly aggressive width/offset on the CL.
17s on the other hand will look tiny.

If you run a full size tire you should be fine. With those specs you will need to roll the rear fenders, save tabs and run a little camber (with full tires).

i'm sure you could youtube it. I wouldn't do it myself. you should heat up the metal and slowly work the fender lip so it folds.
