Question XS Power Headers + Jet Hot Coating?

My order for my headers are being processed and I am planning to install these on my own with a friend (none of us done it before). I'm reading up on everything, but before I even start, I was wondering everyone's take on Jet Hot Coating these headers. Prolong the life of the headers?

Someone on AZ got the following estimates:
JetHot is charging $220
HPC is charging $150

These are ~$150 headers, would it be smart to Jet Hot Coat it?

Honestly do it for performance. If you are worried about them lasting, buy a second set, and wait for them to break if anything.

dont just think about jet hot coating them and from what i saw install might take a little more work. i just got mine in and took it to the mechanic to get done took almost 8 hrs to finish. hot car and engine work not very smart, and my oem headers were sealed tight from the heat, then i found out one header was welded on to hot and created a dimple so i had to get it machined leveled. so all in all i spent about 500, on parts and labor. kinda put a damper on my day. just saying check if its a 100 percent perfect fit before you coat them. but its 150 dollars its well spent already

i read up on it briefly saying that it should be cooler which is slightly better for performance...

as for installing by myself, it's going to be a lot of work, hopefully I can get someone's help that has installed them before in the LA area.

Does Jet Hot coating also lessen or dampen the extra noise or is just for heat reduction?

Jet Hot deals with keeping the gases insulated so the hotter the exhaust gases are they higher its velocity is, which improves scavenging of the cylinders. The Jet Hot coating works well but the shine to it needs to be mantained in order for it to keep its luster otherwise it will dull down to a grey. It doesn't do anything for sound, at least nothing audible to me.

The key to the coating is to do it inside and out, not just the outside. You dont want your headers to crack from the heat be contained within the piping itself similar to when people use header wrap, i've seen cracks arise from using those products.

Here are some pics of the headers Jet Hot coated when they are new:

Look nice. I'd love to hear what kinda temp differences you see from the coating.

so if Jet Hot coating is done correctly (inside AND out) will it help the durability of the headers?

thanks for your reply

Heyy, sorry for slight hijack, but did you recently place the order for those headers? I couldn't find them on eBay searching for acura tl/cl or accord v6 headers... also it looks like the seller who was listing them up is no longer a registered user. Any pointers would be great, as i'm looking for a set myself - thanks!
