XS Headers

soo i heard good and BAD things about these guys...

i am looking for headers.. dont wanna spend a g on a brand name i.e. Comptech when i can get the same gains form a set of XS headers...

now can someone tell me if i shoudl stay away and just go for the comptechs? i like the price tag on teh XS headers... seen them go for liek 150.... and i see quite a few guys on here with them..

if so, link to a good place to buy them or if someone has em for sale PM me.

p.s. will XS headers that are made for 3.0 v6 accords fit the 03 cl-s? auto?

Just remember, you get what you pay for. There's a reason the XS headers are considerably cheaper than the comptechs. Not that they are completly horrible, but they aren't as well made as the Comptechs.

I don't know what the gains are on the XS headers so I can't say that tehy are the same as the comptechs. But I doubt that they are.

As for fitment, I've read many times on here that people that bought the XS headers had fitment issues with bolts not lining up [if i recall correctly].

There's another thread by Teh Snaps that should be on the first page right now talking about his XS heading installation, check that out:

Oh and comptech is closing their doors [very possibly] it's about 99.9% certain. so if you want the comptechs, better try to scrounge to find them.

God not another one! Search man. The whole story is out there.
I don't know what"bad" your hearing cause it's not anything that big of a deal. What....cheap bolts, & 1 instance of not fitting right? A few people complaining of noises?

Besides CT is going out of business. Good luck even getting the CT ones.

Did yours come with any sort of CARB paper work? Just wondering cause about a year ago we started having emissions testing here and dont' want to fail because of headers

I feel like a newb on this subject but emissions is fairly new around here.

Does this mean that with headers my car should still pass?

You have to ask what the emissions testing involves. Some states only check your tailpipe emissions, & a visual inspection that your cat is there. They could care less about CARB'ed approved things like headers & intakes.

But some states require only CARB certified items to installed on the car. As far as I know only a few states are like this.

Only California uses CARB standards, other states have different smog laws but only CA has the stupid CARB law that allows a cop to do a road-side inspection for aftermarket parts without CARB stickers.

Thanks for the info and I do know that pre '96 is only a visual inspection and after '96 they hook it up to the computer. I just did some research and found out that CARB is not required on pre 2008 vehicles, so I should be good to go.

I have nothing againest these headers! I just got a bad part or possibly the install went wrong. I mean for a 150 bucks shipped your not losing much if sumthing does happen. Thats why i bought these because they where such a good deal! I would recomend buying them I'm just still in the process of fixing my problem, but that doesnt mean it wont be fixed!

haha what size bolts do they come with? i think im just gonna go out and find some bolts prior to the install...

how hard would this install be without the use of a lift?

anyways, thaanks for all the advice and facts guy... !

and TeH snaps that exactly why i wanted these... id rather spend 150 on a part and have it go wrong then 1100 on a part and have it go wrong then have no warranty!

haha... i bid on the one on ebay should know if its mine by 8pm!

also going to be getting a set of 17x7.5 ROTA GRIDS

any suggestions on what color? i was thinking either satin silver or sports bronze...

i have an antracite CL-S

suggestions welcome!

Cheap ones. Go to a hardware store or HD/Lowes and get some good grade 8 M10/30 or 40 Pitch 1.25 or 1.50 bolts (and nuts) (or similar size in english)

It can be done with out a lift. just a good floor jack and jack stands.
