Xephyr please read

hey I really admire your work on the intake..

i have the urge to develope my own custom intake becuase iw ant to use lighter materials and such and i was just wondering if you would be kind enough to send me the dimensions (measurments and material) of your intake tubing..

I understand that you are a very busy person and would really apreciate it...

If you could e-mail me at fastuplink@aol.com

thank you - Ed

Don’t you think you are asking a bit much ????

Instead of stealing his design, the least you could do is buy one and then improve upon it if you want to for your own car.

For the record, his is VERY lightweight aluminum and the filter seems to be the heaviest part of the whole works.

Shawn how hard was the wax to do on your car? Did it get rid of the swirls?

it wouldn't really be stealing a design it just dimensions of a pipe i mean cmon... you measure the damn space u have open and then fit accordingly with the largest possible angle bends to increase airflow.. im a 16 year old kid on the westcoast.. i don't intend on stealing his biz.. i was looking into different blends and yes i was going to alter his design.. i would like to expirement with different shapes and metals

im sorry but i dont exactly have enough money to just spend it on something like that..

Xephyr if you want to copyright your intake my grandfather is a patent officer and i can refer you to him.. thank you - ed

Edfro,
I am trying to word my response in a manor that doesnt sound to callous: but in a word.... NO. I have invested a great deal of time and money into my design to yield performance and simplicity of installation. I can sympathize with the plight, however I know first hand that the product is priced in at an industry low.

Additionlly, there are a few inconsistencies in your request: 1. you first said your looking to save monry as you say your a 16yr old student. 2. But your looking to test several shapes and metals for weight...... There is only one material Carbon Fiber that meets those reqs. No cost savings ! Also, Carbon Xephyr CAI will be ready in less than 2 months.

Carbon Fiber is a fiber glass like composite that is as strong as steel and has better thermal dynamic properties then any standard metal or composite. The weight characteristics are also 30-50% lighter depending on wall diameter.

The air temp/humidity sensor prototype is being guality tested.

They make lamborginis out of carbon fiber, well if your trying to save like 1 or 2 pounds just try loosing weight instead of looking for a lighter product. jeez.. If it was rims diff story, but a lighter CAI. give me a break.

Hey Xexpher the carbon fiber cai sounds intersting...

wait so you took out your filter? and did not replace with any type of filter?

I'm not sure but i think that would have adverse effects on the engine

Maybe he removed the resonator box. It would be stupid to remove an AIR filter from a high performance engine. Imagine small impurities inside the explosion chamber (below the pistons) blasting the explosion chamber walls.

Least what happens is holes are just stamped down there... yeck.... performce and reliability of the engine is compromised.

I did not UPS C.O.D. the system due to shipping address inconsistencies and an uverifiable phone. I sent an email to you early last week. If you want to proceed contact me for other options. btw-remove resonator box ... not the airbox ..unfiitered air+CLS = trouble!

is [C] fiber more heat resistant than [Al] or no?

I'm aware it is around half the weight, but one might wonder what is a more significant value as far as performance goes wieght of material used in the intake or which kept the most heat out of the air although both would be extreemely minimal.. hehe just curious
