xephyr customer response ??????

I'm going to get a CAI when I get off my duff. So everytime I read discussions here about CAI I get the itch. When I get the itch I email support@xephyrperformance.com. The emails basically say I'm ready to buy, have a few simple ?? and when you reply, I'll be sending you some cash.

emailed them on 3/7/01 and then 7/10/01.

I never heard from them. Anyone have any insight? Should I just send in my order? Are they too flush with customers that they don't need anymore business? Are they out of business??

Your money would be better spent somewhere else. If you like the Xephyr product and still want one, call Wayne Gruen at Park Avenue Acura. I think he may still have a few. The product is fine and what is there to worry about for aftermarket service? What's to service??

Xephyr is the type of company that responds to your emails after you send them the money.

Ken and Shawn,

I know both of you V1 brothers wouldn't steer me wrong. Your witty responses lead me to believe that you've had problems but although I don't monitor the board daily, I don't recall reading about any "real" problems. If xephyr is out, who's the lucky businessman to take my cash??????

A guy named Chris Koncur. Let me find his number and I will post it later.

A) Do a search and you'll find plenty of responses.

B) Don't say the 'X' word or you annoy lots of people and get the thread locked out

C) Maybe I should stick this on the faq.....

I myself haven’t had any problems with Xephyr, but his business practices seem to have taken quite a dive since I bought my CAI from him back in March.

He doesn’t reply to my E-Mail questions and he has stiffed several members here out of 200+ dollars each.

Stay away from XEPHYR.

1)don't pay attn to phin, he's just messing w/you.
2)order an aem cai from Tim at www.autocarparts.com and you won't be sorry. you'll want to consider whether or not you'll require a by pass valve too.

Dont pay attention to Mike, he is a Xephyr rep. He also sells Amway. I heard he is also a Jehovah's witness. Moral of the story: DONT ANSWER YOUR DOOR.

I haven't had a problem with him either but my fellow CLers have, so yeah you can say I now have a problem with him, too.

To a certain degree this forum and the Internet in general has created new relationships along with new opportunities to scheme and scam. Because of what I read and heard about this particular situation, I believe Xephyr deserves whatever he gets.

Anyway who runs a business here and takes unfair advantage of its members should never hear the end of it until the wrong is made right.

And then they will be reminded about it forever....or longer.

Ya know... this is one of the reasons why this board is so great. Think about it.... rdsandy was actually ready to send Xephyr money which he'd likely never see again. And he would likely NEVER receive an intake either. But now, he knows better. He knows to spend his money elsewhere. I mean... sorry for sounding all sappy, but this is what it's all about boys!

Well the reality of it is that if I hadn't belonged to or read this board I never would have known about xephyr. And I never would have sent him "real" money, just plastic (reverse the charge if you get burned) money. But your point is well taken and I agree this board is a wealth of good info.

RDSandy:

If you interested in the CAI, I am thinking about putting together a group buy for AEM at about 170 each. Hit me up and let me know if interested.

Xephyr is gone. Get an AEM or Injen intake. Tim over at autocarparts.com sells them (at least the AEM). Do yourself a favor and get one of those....

Well thanks for all the responses.

I went on ebay and ended up getting PIAA crystal ion wedge bulbs for the road lamps, an AEM CAI (silver) and an AEM bypass valve.

Total cost including shipping $265.

Should ship tomorrow.
