WTF is SS?
WTF is SS?
Okay, so I'm totally confused as to what SS actually is. It's called Sequential Shift (or was it Sport Shift). And from what I've been reading, it just sounds like instead of going from 1>2>3>4>5 with your auto shifter, you go LEFT, UP, UP, UP, UP, and UP.
I test drove it at my local dealer, but only for a few minutes. And I couldn't really tell a difference from shifting using the two different methods. This sounds a bit gimmicky to me. Is there something I'm missing?

From D5 you knock the shift over into 'SS' you can shift from 2>3>4>5 or 5>4>3>2 the 1>2 shift is still auto and if you floor it in a higher gear it will auto down shift 5th can't be shifted into unless some requirements are met I forget if it is an RPM or MPH but basically you can upshift and downshift at will. The gear shifts happen 1/100th of a second faster than in Auto, also it resests to 1st when you stop.

I think acura calls it sequential sport shift or something, anyways there is a HUGE differance in the two way of shifting. Try leaving the SS in 2nd and it won't upshift and you will feel all the power of the S up to 65mph. And best of all when your crusing around 50mph and u wanna pass someone move the stick over from d5 to SS and downshift to 2 and just let a little gas and your gone!!
