You must really be hard on your brakes.

My rotors had to be shaved. this as while the car was still under warranty so the dealer did it for free. now they are having the same symtoms again one year later.

duk, I have about 2k miles on my rotoras already and no problems with warping. I have them front and rear with ultimate squeak pads all around also.

Are you sure the brakes are causing the problem? The wheels weren't put on with an air gun (ie: overtorqued) were they?

any rotor can warp , even brembos... it is mostly caused by the driver...EXCEPT FOR ACURA CL FACTORY STUPID ROTORS <---- quality issue

Maybe it is because you always wash your car when the brake is still hot
Maybe because of your driving style
Maybe it is because something hit the rotor while your driving

I know any rotor can warp but with the higher quality one's, you really have to abuse them.

BTW, my Brembos still feel like they've just been broken in.

Sometimes with new pads you can get a build up that will feel like warped rotors .

When rotors are shaved (= machined ?), the thickness become thinner. The thinner rotors have less mass to dissipate the heat generated from brakings, and tend to warp even easier.

I think I felt that when I was breaking in the ultimate pads. I nearly flipped out. it was during a high way stop coming to a toll. did it a few times nothing since.

My stock rotors tend to cause a shimmy when they are hot, but if I'm easy on them, they brake fine.
I wonder if the 2004 TL Brembos fit on our cars?

I dont know Ron, but I got a good look at the 04 TL 6spd calipers the other day and they actually look pretty good. They arent ugly, they are gloss black, and they have white ACURA letters on them. if these fit I'd definetly look into purchasing a pair.

I do believe Jens was going to look into it for us.. I dunno if he gave us a response before he left the boards.

I believe he said they wouldn't fit. Something about the hub being a different size or offset or something... I dunno

I don't think they are a direct fit, considering the OEM acura wheels have a 45mm ofset and they are 17" x 8" wheels. Why did Jens leave the boards?
