TSB's, not recalls.

And yes, their a good thing. It is admirable when a car manufacturer recognizes and fixes their problems.

You'll find the same patterns with most vehicles if you look up their TSB record. If you don't, then the manufacturer is hiding something.

Yeah, it's one thing to have these, it's another issue about fixing them. You mean to tell me that if I went to my dealership with this list and told them I had problems with this stuff, they would fix it?

They wouldn't even touch the rotors and it's on that list!

Yes it should have, but the dealer told me that they only resurface and replace brake pads on newer cars (I'm still covered under Acura warranty). I showed it to Lexus, with whom I purchased the extended warranty and they did it no questions asked.

Again, it's one thing to say there's something wrong, it's another thing fixing it. There are actually a few things on there (wipers) that have problems. I bet the dealership would blame it on the icebox.

Doesn't anyone use the search button anymore? This is the whole reason boards like this exist. Fucking jebus!

There are probably over 200 threads on the rotor TSB. Some dealers seem to cover it, some don't, some good-will it. If your dealer does not, find one that does, or bitch and moan to them about the TSB.

And I wasn't just talking about the rotors, I'm talking about that whole list.

They do fix them. Every problem on that list I had they fixed it.

The brakes are another story. They are a "wear and tear" item. If it looks like you abused them, they will deny you service.

Unfortunately, not all dealers are created equal.

Good practice is to print out a TSB and bring it along with you to the dealer. If you are indeed affected by the TSB and they refuse to fix the problem then simply place a call to Acura Client Services and/or find a new dealership of choice.

Yeah, I remember when I first bought the car I read the TSB on the rotors on here and that's when I printed it. A week or too later I felt slight vibrations in the pedal and steering wheel and the service manager told me they wouldn't fix it even though he had the TSB right in front of him.

I know it's not all dealers who won't do the work, but if just ONE of them who won't do it then he's doing something wrong. It's like losing a lawsuit and saying "Screw the judge, I'm still not paying." I emailed Acura when this happend, there was no response, I called them and the guy didn't even know anything about a TSB.

Oh come on, it was an older lady who owned the car before me. Brakes on a $30K + car shouldn't last 40K miles, especially not when an older lady is driving it. That's no excuse to deny it. They should have to PROVE that it was abused, but they wouldn't even take a look at it.

Not too be a dick or anything but when was the last time u saw an old lady stop for every little crack in the road. abusing ur brakes doesn't always mean beating the shit outta the car and flooring it and shit.

I have another one to add to the pile, sorry for the length & rant. I have an 03 cl with navi. This is my third Acura and I have never had a problem with brakes until this one. It all started 400 miles after I picked up the car. I brought it back for pulsation. They cut the rotors, as soon as I picked up the car and saw the work order I was amazed. I couldn't believe that they didn't replace the rotors on a car with such little miles. Then I was around 10,000 (have to look at service order not far off though) and I brought it to a different dealer because of the first incident and they replaced the rotors, after I advised of the previous incident.
Next I reach 16,000 and guess what's happening again, yup, pulsation. I then took it in again to the second dealer and they cut the rotors this time. I then had to ask, what could be causing this; they told me they were not sure. That is when I said you know this is my third time in 16,000 miles and I am concerned because I know there has to be a problem; my driving habits and patterns have not changed and this issue never occurred on the previous Acura’s. Then they advised me to contact client services. I said ok, thinking that would help to have it documented. I then slacked and didn't call right away. I then hit 17,000 miles and guess what the pulsating was back. One thousand miles after getting them done. I then called client services and said I am bringing my car in for the brakes again and this will be my fourth time in 17,000 miles and I then gave him the history. I went to the dealer and told them what was happening, and that I was hear 1,000 miles ago. They then replaced the front rotors and cut the rear ones. Then the last event for me was tonight when after much phone tag, I finally spoke to the client services rep. He then proceeded to advise me that Acura will no longer cover this, unless there are stress cracks, caliper seizure, or pad failure, he also stated that the dealers had not documented the problems correctly. His next statement was that any future occurrences (not including the above listed would have to be abuse.) I know some may think that but 400 miles, 1,000 miles, I feel like somebody would need to drive with their foot on the brake at all times for this to happen. This is a leased car and I am not planning on keeping it after these brake issues. It’s just frustrating because I barely drive the car, it will have 18,000 miles when 2 years of ownership comes around. It’s a leased car and I do not plan on keeping it after these problems. I just don’t want to have to pour money into a car that I am not going to keep.

Let me know what options you think I have
(I would trade the car in now if I could, just don’t want to get hammered at a dealer)
