Wrecked My Car

yeah, don't even have the real plates on yet and I've wrecked it... not a total though... hardly... was on my way to go cruisin' with Austin and Eric when we came up on a really sharp turn. There was a black civic right next to me and his back end started to come into my lane a bunch so I swerved a bit to avoid him. Then my back end came up and I lost control, went right into the curb and jumped all four tires over it. Landed in a bunch of bamboo stick kinda plants and into sort of a ditch, at least my front tires were in the ditch. My back bumper was ALL THE WAY past the curv and into the sidewalk. I was very lucky though, there was a big wooden light pole about 15 feet down from where I ran up the curb and about 10 feet before where I ran up was cement walls of some sort. Acura TLC came out and pulled my car out of the ditch. When they pulled it out I was happy to see that the front end mask saved me from getting worse damage. The front bumper is dented and broken in 2 different places and the headlights are scratched up. The hood was basically fine thanks to the top of the front end mask. A few scratches on there that can be buffed out. Tires will probably be trashed for replacements. Eric told me to go to Discount and ask for Road Hazard and they'll replace all my tires for the $40 I pay for road hazard since I'm running stock tires. Righty rim is slight scratched but nothing looks really bent. All in all I'm lucky to have the following: 1) not have hit the civic, 2)not have hit the pole 3) not to have hit any innocent bystanders that were maybe jogging or running outside 4) to be able to step out of my car without any bodily harm... Gonna replace teh bumper and maybe headlights if the scratches can't be polished/buffed out... drive safe guys... I'll post pics tomorrow... goodnight...

o yeah, one more thing... I really just awnt to thank Eric and Austin for staying out there with me... this is the first time I've ever met them and they were just so incredibly kind... stayed around the whole time to accompany me and tell me everything was gnna be allright... These are some exceptional people and I just wanted to thank them... Austin went so far as paying for the fraekin carwash when we went to get all the debris and brush off my car and Eric followed me about 15 minutes to get back to my apartment to make sure I was back allright... Thanks guys, you have no idea how much I appreciate that...

yeah its me Eric

what a freaky night. it all started when i met up with Vinh then we met up with Austin and it turned out to be one crazy ass night.

we were all driving to a racing spot. Austin was in front, vinh in the middle and i was following from the rear

we were heading out towards mopac, going up 24th and we stopped at the lamar and 24th stop light. we were all in the right lane and this white civic was on the left. when the light turned green austin and the civic went at it on a up hill windy road. Austin is one crazy mofo. well he smoked the civic and then vinh tried to pass up the civic too but the cl-s could not handle the turn and he lost control and jumped the curb and landed in a bamboo bush. waited about an hour for the tow guy to get there and turns out the damage is not severe.

i am scared to take turns now

You are crazy!
Racing with stock tires?!!!... those are crap for the turns, That is Mistake number 1....2 CLS has a lot understeer and you can not race it like a ferrari...

Get beter tires first... second add sways... three do not push too much in the curve otherwise you will go off road as you did....!!!

Glad to hear you're alright. Sucks though to see your new car trashed a little like that. But thank God things worked out. Post pics soon of the damage and once things are fixed, post the results.

Take care guys and drive carefully!

Thanks for the note on the stock tires, I'd better be careful not to take fast turns on mine!

Really sorry to hear that, but glad it wasn't a disaster.

Will this impact your weekend plans to drive up to Dallas?

Also, forget the springs. Get you some sways and tires first.

And you can't push a front wheel drive car through the twisties like a read wheel drive. :P
