Would i have a chance against a stock srt-4?
My buddy just got an srt 4 and is completely stock.
I would like to run him but not sure who would win.
I know what theses cars are capable of doing in magazines and articles, but has anyone actually seen stock srt-4 at the track. What do they trap at? at my track srt-4's are always modded, so i cant really get an idea of how fast they are stock
I was thinking my best race would be from a roll.
My mods are in my sig

From the looks of these stats, you probably dont have much of a chance unless the guy has 2 broken arms

it's possible. i use to have the exact same mods with the exact same track time as you and still lost to a stock srt-4. only by like 1/2 car length. they run 100mph trap speed usually.
from a roll it would be close, but i think the edge goes to the neon because are car is a pig.

Regardless of that, it's the fastest production FWD car of all time... and it sells for 20G's.
The car is a huge success compared to a CL. An overall worse vehicle, but more successfull never the less.

You cant beat one off the line unless hes a shitty driver. But I have raced one that had rims im not sure if it had anything else but I doubt it. When I raced him it was from 60 to about 115 and I beat him. So I think you could take him from a 40 punch to 110, or when your hit 4th gear.

Hopefully he misses a shift. With equal drivers, he should take you by 4-6 car lenghts. Either way it should be a decent race. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

I actually know the mods over at the srt4 forums. I know about 9 of them. Out of the group that went to the track, the best time was a 14.7 due to traction issues. All of them were modded in one way or the other.
Your best bet would be to go from a dead stop. That way your friend will have traction issues assuming he wont know how to launch the car right yet. They have a lot of torque in the low end which is something you can use to your advantage.

I raced my buddy's 03 CL-S 6-speed from about a 40 roll (he was in 2nd gear, just getting into VTEC) It wasn't really close. I put about 3-4 cars on him by the time we hit 80-90. His car is nicer, mine is faster.

First- You can get an SRT-4 ACR in any available color.
Second- The ACR package isn't just a cosmetic deal. You get double adjustable struts, 16x7 BBS wheels and the seats have pass-thru's for a harness. The smaller diameter wheels are just what the car needs for autocrossing and road racing. MPH magazine did a head to head comparison between the ACR and the Competition Package E-46 M3. There is no comparison.... any M3 is just a sick ride. But on the Streets of Willow Springs, the ACR only gave up .15 seconds per lap to the $50K+ M3.
The smaller diameter wheels and tires also help the ACR trap a little higher in the 1/4 mile. 103 seems to be the norm.

those are some pathetically slow times. Last time I went to the track, I saw one neon srt-4 run a 12.8 @ 108 (he had slicks on the front, it was a trip) and another neon run a 12.4 @ 116. They can be hella fast for not much money, don't get it twisted...

I raced a few! I won a couple of times and lost to a couple but not by much. If you get a good launch it will be close. the only thing that concerns me is the newer ones i think got a horsepower increase.

ehhh, ill bring up the old thread.
if modded SRTs were putting down 14.7s then either the drivers sucked or the conditions sucked. Ive NEVER seen those cars run that slow when they are actually trying. Traction is a big problem, but just like any other high torque FWD. Once they hook, be careful. The stock ones on the high side are 14.6 with a new driver and vary to 13.9 with an experienced driver. Traps are about or just a tad over 100mph. Its not really accurate to compare ETs though (that goes for any car). What you should be concerned about are the trap speeds. Sure a CLS can run 14.6 just like the SRT, but if the Acura traps 98 and the other 104 (example) then the CL would get its ass handed to it on the street.
Your best bet would be from a roll because the Acuras top end is pretty good. However, from that position, the Dodge is pretty well set also. Race and see what happens, but honestly, you shouldnt win.

Hey guys, just a little update. My 03 SRT-4 is going to a new owner Tuesday am. It's been a great little car, but it's time to move on. I'm replacing it with an 06 Accord EXV6 6-speed NAVI. The 6-speed can never lose...

I just get everytime I hear what can't or can't be done because of some magazine report.
