worth the price? 2003 cl type s

Hey I am considering buying a 6 spd 2003 acura cl type s with 41k miles. The price is $16,000. Pictures shows the car very clean inside/out and its supposely in "excellent condition". Is this car worth the price considering it DID have its clutch replaced? Any info would be nice. thank you.

Doesn't sound like a bad price. I got my '03 6-speed with navi with 60k, new rotors and tranny fluid for $15k a couple months ago. It was a very clean Texas car. Not really a matter of if the clutch has been replaced but how well it holds. Mine still grips VERY strong. Sometimes too strong. Sounds like a good deal. Go for it.

I just got mine two months ago, 15,300 with 51k 6spd. Take away 10k and it's about right. What color?

That's a very good price! I paid $22K for my CL just over a year ago.

Sounds like a decent price to me... but that's only the asking price, so you might be able to talk 'em down a little more...

I say if you wait it will be gone. Buy it. CL-S 6 speeds are very reliable and even more rare. And finding one with that kind of mileage is becoming harder. I say jump on it if everything else checks out.

I think if its clean and car fax checks out good....and it drives like the silent ninja that it is. I'd pay it instantly. Of course try going down on the price like everyone said....doesn't hurt to try and he doesn't its still an excellant price.

Sux, I think they are asking a little to much with the mileage, talk em down If the car is in excellent shape it might be worth it though.

i think you can still go lower on the price for the mileage. I know i got mine for 16.5 with 30k MILEAGE. I'm sure you could probably go lower on the price. I love the satin silver but if you are going to spend 10+K YOU BETTER BE GETTING EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANT. Don't settle, don't ever settle. Pimp daddy gold is a sweet color

whats wrong with salvage? as long as the damage was not horrible, like frame damage then it might be ok. you dont have a auto tranny so you dont have to worry about it. only buy it if you plan to keep it a long time because the resale value is very low, which brings me to another point, 16k would be too high for that car. if you still want it talk them down another few thousand. im a salvage 2001 cl-s owner

Because they still want 16k! Maybe 8k and I will take a salvage

I paid $13K for mine last year including tax title & registration, yes out the door! I was expecting the title to be salvage myself, but it was clear. The asking price was $12900 because it had high miles (96K) (2003 CLS-6spd). I talked him down and said just do it for $13K including all the extra hidden fees etc and he went for it. It was a dealer too. If you can find a dealer that's been sitting on one for a bit and he's had a few people turn him down because it's a 6 spd (some people just don't want to deal with a manual trans) they might sell cheap to the 1st guy that shows interest! I saw a black on black CLS-6 on Craigslist a couple of weeks ago for $12500! So cheap ones are out there.

Here I just found that CLS-6 on Craigs. It's now $12K so you could probably talk him down to $11K!

awww. man. i live in san francisco, and its been REALLY hard to find ANY 6spd 03' cl type s anywhere near by cuz of the fact that i am looking for financing(dealership most likely). i found some thats priced up in the 20k range, but DAMN thats too much. i did however find one which has 94k miles. Asking price is $17,499! thats HELLLLLLLLA!! I was wondering, do you guys think i can talk the dealer down? If so, wuts a reasonable price to negotiate and how would you approach them?(im not good in negotiating) Also, keep in mind, it does have a navigation system. Not sure how much that will be a factor, but ima just put that out there. any info would help, thanks a bunch!

That's the same price I paid for mine in November with 49K miles. Way too much, and I think I over paid a bit. With that many miles, I would go in and offer 13K for it and tell them you can't pay a penny more for it. 13K might even be a little high, but a dealership probably won't come down any more than that.

I am selling mine for 6500 but i recently started having problems with the tranny. it is very slow on the take off i dont know if its the computer because it flashes the D5 on the dashboard, but that is how much i would sell mine for. it is red with the tan interior the miles on it 25000, it has been stopped for the longest time still drives but i am afraid that one day it just wont take off.

6 speed market is greatly different than automatic. They only made about 3500 6 speeds so that helps them on the resale side.

If the one you saw at the dealership is "certified pre owned" you get a nice warranty extension along with it as well as the option to take the bumper to bumper warranty out to 7yrs 100k.

In terms of negotiating with the dealer, start low (not insultingly low). Don't expect them to accept your offer and don't make an offer that you feel is fair.

If you make an offer that you feel is fair and they accept it, you left money on the table.

As a good business man, you can always raise your offer if they reject it. If you make an offer, they accept it and you decide you want to pay less, you are officially a bad business man.

As some one stated in a previous post, don't wait around on the car, it won't wait for you.

I'd avoid salvage if you want to buy an extended warranty, I don't think you can.
My 6speed/Navi/4yr. ext warr. has 46k miles in TX. I'm thinking of trading to a used RL but waiting for prices to drop some more, I still love my 6 speed tho.
