World's First Auto CL-S Turbo - Finished!

Pics should come up soon. The kit came out beautifully. I have some minor wiring/tuning left, but that's small-stuff.

It is actually nicer than mine, I have to say! Note the custom radiator-hose, and custom radiator overflow tank - all polished. The cross-member was notched and re-worked, so it looks like factory, not just cut up and fugly looking. It's curved with metal and is just bigger than the downpipe.

This car has the secondary 750cc injector (not installed yet) and the exhaust cutout as well. Other standard stuff includes the E-Manage, Garrett GT35R ball-bearing turbo, Garret IC, Garrett blow-off valve and Garrett Wastegate.

Car also has a reinforced transmission.

Yup, it has Nitrous... although I disconnected that - dont' need it anymore!

Very nice Ram.....

Hey, I was wondering what the opinions of doing a CL-p turbo would be...since it has lower NA compression, could it be hit a bit harder than a CL-S with boost?

(please be advised I know VERY little about FI applications)

I don't know about tracking this car.... I doubt the owner is going to track it. It has a lot of stereo stuff etc., so its quite heavy. The turbo does feel different on an auto-tranny... quite different.

It's $8K+ installed... if you don't want the injector, cutout and other fancy stuff, maybe less.

That's a very nice project. Did you use Stainless on the piping on this one? Looks like this auto was once SC'ed (fan shround cutout plus the blower bracket).

Let's hear more about the driving experience

Per Mattg, it's MtBikRs' car. Definitely not RED Rider's.

I thought MtBikR was interested in 3.5L at one time.

That's a mighty fine looking turbo . Are you going to hook up coolant lines? I'd come by and see it, but I'm going to Zaino my car and that may take up most of the day...

correct me if I am wrong but I thought that the GT35R turbo worked alot better at a higher psi? Due to the high compression on our cars we definately wont be able to use that turbo to its full potential!

Any reason as to why that specific turbo was picked?

Because it was perfectly sized for the J32A2 by Blue (who works for Garrett)

You gotta remember our motors flow alot more air than the more common 4-cyl turbo applications.

All stainless and polished - exept for the IC piping (it doesn't get that hot). It feels very strong - I have yet to hook up the water-lines and do more tuning. Not sure if you can see it in the picture, but it has the AEM UEGO wideband kit as well.

That really looks great. Congratulations on the project. Even if we didn't get track #s how about dyno? I'm sure they would be very impressive.
